Which One?
« on: September 30, 2012, 10:00:42 pm »

Pick two of the following: Armoured Core V, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Hitman: Absolution, Resident Evil 6.

I'm trying to decide on which games I should get for my birthday. Be nice, and try not to be biased towards XCOM! I prefer content length, re-playability, and quality of the game over the value and complexity of the plot and the multiplayer experience. Yes, I'm getting them for my Xbox 360. Please stop screaming.

You don't need to use anything I've said as a guideline. If theres a good game that you think I've overlooked, then by all means suggest it! Just be forewarned that I may not agree with it. I'm willing to opt out of these games in lieu of a good computer game, but I have a Mac, so chances are I can't even play it.

It's kinda hard not to be biased when asked about your preferences.

I'd say XCOM (because XCOM) and Hitman (because of the seemingly infinite 'challenges').

This. Although Far Cry 3 looks pretty sweet too.

Borderlands 2?
Thats one. :P I hate cel-shaded so I won't buy it over the other games. The first one was fun though.

I'm just gonna rank em.

XCOM:EU / Borderlands 2
Assassin's Creed 3 / Far Cry 3
Hitman: Absolution / Resident Evil 6
Armored Core 5 / Sleeping Dogs

Sleeping Dogs in particular I think is going to not last you as long as any of those other titles. Or be as replayable.

Frankly, Dishonoured is full of cheese. I'm a fan of steampunk and I hunger for stealth games (Metal Gear Solid FTW), but there is no way in hell that Dishonored can do anything that its predecessors (System Shock, Bioshock, Dark Messiah) haven't managed to do infinitely better, so nope!

I won't give it even the slightest consideration, especially in the wake of the (fanboiz cover your ears) crapfest that is Skyrim. In the words of some guy on YouTube, "It has the vastness of an ocean, and the depth of a puddle," which sums up my frustration quite well. I can't even bring myself to, in this case, play what they publish, because of their Xbox fetish. (fanboiz, uncover!) On the other hand, I can't wait to see what that new Skyrim engine can do on the next Fallout game! *imagines the epic gibbing*

Why? More importantly, why did you listen to him when he provided nothing to say why you shouldn't buy it? If you listed it to begin with, it must be something you were interested in.

Dishonored is being made by a completely different developer than Skyrim was...

Assassin's Creed 3 and X-Com.

Don't listen to this bullshit about AC, it is easily the most enjoyable series on your list, but the PC Gaming Master Race won't stop being butthurt about Ubisoft's DRM that they aren't even using anymore.
