Man, I have a love-hate relationship with the original game. You couldn't save during missions, and some of them (stealth missions, I am talking to you!) were absolutely horrible. On the other hand, tactical space combat.

This time they will be using the Unreal Engine, which should mean in-mission saving. There will be no technical limitations stopping it at least.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Only one thing tho, i wish it would be more open-ended than mission scripted, throw that in nexus 2 and ... im speechless.

Yeah, Nexus was weird that way. I remember it feeling rather sandboxy, but then not really being it... I guess I'll just have to play it again!

Mission briefing was sandboxy because you could check, watch, every single p[lanetary body and have information about it, first time i saw it i tried to find the *jump-to* button but sadly there was none XD.

Yeah, Nexus wanted to be a sandbox but didn't have enough time to do it, I think.

The kickstarter video didn't mention it either, at least that I noticed, which makes me a sad puppy :(

I'm pretty sure you could save in missions. However I absolutely agree with you on the stealth missions.

"They have evolved since..."

25 years after Nexus 1? Really? Does this team know anything about evolution?

"technology" "more advanced" "more features"
Buzz words. Have they learned nothing?

25...

2012 - 25 =  1987.

You got to be kidding me. I swore it came out in the last decade at least.

Anyway, the only reason why this isn't an instant buy for me is that it's...just isn't that impressive. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm just not that excited for Nexus 2. Feels like it's riding on nostalgia.

I think you'll find they meant 25 years in the game universe, rather than 25 years ago since they made the last game.

A technological being can evolve as quickly as it can invent new components.  Think of how quickly humans would change if we could design new organs on-demand.
