Yup.

Do I start with any supplies of metal or have to gather them all from the beginning?

You realize that having your seargents as soldiers and workers there going to be weaker then a full time soldier and also less skilled then a full time worker?

A. I need the food.
B. I have knights.
C. That's how they did it back in the Middle Ages.

But it'd be more effective to just split them half as workers half as soldiers.

I meant half of them are workers full time.
Half are soldiers full time.

Yea like your heavily armored army that has no access to metal or smiths unless you can find something to trade for it :).
So your entire armed force will be out classed by every person who has mines unless somebody should choose to give you better equipment :).

I'm a knightly order for whatever major religion is in the game (seriously what is it's name?). Helping the Holy Order is practically your religious duty.

Let's say you start with a year's worth of minerals, plus or minus a year's worth of standard trade.

Of course, if the knightly orders actually have royal support, they'll probably have enough gear.

mesor, where do your peasants farm? And are none of the knights married, or do they just leave their family behind in the villages they hailed from?
