Meh if your the only one with the guns im just going to have to kill you.
No way im leaving 1 person to have a huge advantage over everybody else.
I estimated that if anyone wanted to roll over me and i put the mages to battle,
total enemy's casualties would be 5000 - 6000 :/

wouldn't be hard if people do band together against me.

And the Circle might assist you in taking him out.
You just want that Library so bad don't you?

Nah, I just dun liek guns. Mages are pointless when you can snipe them.

Sorry if I sound a bit like an ass, but it's my opinion.

I wouldnt mind guns if they were like the original guns made and were low accuracy low range.
But sniper rifle vs swordsmen is a bit unfair and you did choose your fief to have low numbers.

Uhm you can both have a library.

There is more then one copy to most books you know.

Early era musket style gun is fine but sniper rifle is just over kill lol it will result in half the world wiping you from the map.

*shrugs
i dunno how far the magic goes but im not trying to make these weapons efficient for complete battle usage. the rifles themselves give away position very quickly (think like a geyser going off) and considering they are heavy take along time aiming. As for the range, i meant for the the weapons to be a magical alternatives for soldiers and as such they have their weaknesses too. as such rifle ranges are the same as mages. I use the term sniper as riflemen sounded too basic and i only want a few guys running around with the guns in the first place. I repeat its only magical alternative for soldiers.

:/

Sounds legit, but still, you could have used slightly better terminology that implies that they're just modified magical scepters.

And there range would still need to be around the same as longbows and the like huge range and high accuracy is just plain unfair when you can just shoot the leader and walk off.

Have a compromise: high accuracy at shortbow range, medium-low everywhere else?

Thats fine, my original intention is that I don't have any magic range units in my military (i have spellswords but those guys are more up front and support class) and these guys are meant in place for them. Most of my magic is concentrated on research and i have a few mages that are offensive.

GreatWyrmGold, can I change my faction? I thought that I'd be getting into a Medieval/Low Fantasy game, not a two-page discussion about magical fire-arms.

Maybe just remove magic altogether its gonna cause a lot of balancing issues.

Gah, then that removes two factions, me and the one with the guns.
