Entire universe outside flash as the Kestrel jumps through the Sector Gate into the Rebel-controlled sector.

After the arrival, the crew is welcomed by deep, black space. It seems that this particular beacon serves only one purpose - communication. There's not even a border station there.

"Processing data from local beacon database.... Processing data from local beacon database... Process-"

"Data processed. Approximately eight beacons have been destroyed or reported missing since Rebels took control of this civilian sector."

The computer beeps and few second later, shows up sector map on screen.

Few more beeps happen before the computer speaks again:

"Comparing current coordinates to latest spatial coordinates of the Homeworld... Comparison complete. Given current position of the ship, going through either of other Sector Gates will result in approximately the same length of sectors needed to traverse until Homeworld is reached."

The computer beeps one last time and awaits instructions.

//Remember to man the stations guys.
EDIT: And yes, you're at top-left corner of the region map.

"Crunch for you seeing as you would have a hard time getting through their shells, they squish for me... Or pop... One of the three... Either way though, it would be a little easier to head through that sector then going through the others. Those Rebel fools might, as you said, be paying mind to the Engi sector seeing as it would be a logical path seeing as the Engi's are on good terms with the Federation. Heading through the Rebel control sector may be either a Gauntlet or simply hiding in plain sight depending on how luck rolls..."

Head to the weapons room.
"I suggest we jump due east initially captain, the probability of safely traversing this sector jumping due east is +25% higher then if we take a southern route to our destination".

"Agreed. At the next intersection we should head starboardwards, as that beacon seems to have more options available as directions go."

"Ready Rocky? If you are I'll engage pug speed!"

... that pun doesn't work so well in English.

Activate FTL once the engine's ready.

"Coordinates extracted from previous crew conversation. Engaging FTL engine."

With the flash, the stars began to whirl and turn into bright smudges outside the ship. This lasted for a while, before, with another flash, the ship has stopped at a beacon.

The sensors were showing no enemy ships, but outside the cockpit, Captain Wymar could see debris. Multitude of small bits that looked like pieces of several different ships. It was a debris field and what's more surprising, there was a small space station right in the middle of that field, looking quite intact.

The computer beeps several times.

"Structural components defined as standard Federation components. Detected no lifesigns, power source is enabled. Shields are powered up."

"Hmmm..." Came the rocky rumble of though through the comlink. Doban was looking through the smaller screen in the Engine Room. While he could see, he wasn't able to hear the computers reports, thats only on the bridge. "What you think Cap'tn, Seems like there was a fight here a while back, could be something or nothing in that station for us to scavenge if we take the time..."

"Well the sensors aren't registering any lifeforms on board. Chances are there's still something of value on board. However it's still possible that the rebels already took everything of worth out of it. Either way, we don't have a teleporter to properly investigate. I'm thinking of trashing the place and collecting any scrap that might be of use. What do you guys think?"

"Highly possible valuable remnants in station, however standing shields but no life signs implies possible viral contamination or hostile boarding action, with boarding action being significantly more likley due to debris field. Recommend scrapping the station and collecting the scrap to minimize possible risk to crew".
