If fruit falls off trees, we could grow a bunch of fruit trees around the fort's entrances to act as defensive emplacements...

The falling coconut hits the goblin thief in the head, bruising the brain through the +llama leather cap+!
The goblin thief has fallen unconscious!

And thus would a fruit tree save a dwarven child :) This update will be awesome.

Generally, when one is conducting an experiment, it is worth noting that the observers went insane, killed each other, and then rose from the dead.
It's like DF inhaled a peanut.

Change "goblin thief" to "elf assassin" for more irony.

Someone mentioned tree roots growing into the fortress?

Pertinent.

I hope elves will siege from the treetops from now on.

Yeah, those trees look crazy! It'll be interesting how they're implemented.
Think that's how ALL trees will be? Or just special elf enhanced trees?
Wonder if in adventure mode you can just walk through an elf village, cutting down trees and the elfs fall out like apples falling from a tree. Ah man, that'd be fantastic, a gosh, that would be great.

Those are normal trees. Elf enhanced trees should be bigger.

I just realised something: We're gonna get flowers and probably blossom as well...

Does this mean we'll get dwarven hayfever?

That would be most certainly most amusing.

Urist cancels suffer from economic crisis: growing money from trees.

I wonder. If you mod trees to bear gold coin fruits, will the coins be blank, or have pictures on them?

That's an interesting question...and I have no answer. But what pictures would be on them? Not elven tree assassins, right? ... RIGHT?

They would have images on them the moment you viewed them.

I wonder if it will be possible to mod trees that grow liquids.

..I want to farm fire-proof trees that spawn magma. Perhaps combine that with another tree that generates water and create a nice obsidian forest.

..Or a tree that generates syndrome inducing vomit.

Because they think it's funny.

Well, a Military squad full of Snot-Markdwarfes called "The Sickness of Spring" would help against some sieges...
