Quick healthcare question.
« on: September 24, 2012, 12:27:05 am »

A weaver was out doing stuff and encountered a goblin ambush. She ran away, but took a copper bolt to her lower leg. Luckily, there was no damage to nerves, arteries, or tendons. She was seen by the chief medical dwarf, Rested, and got stitches & a bandage. Now, she's back up & hauling stuff, though her thoughts screen still shows "her lower leg is cut open" (she's very slow to heal).

Problem: The copper bolt is still stuck in her leg. It was still {forbidden} when her treatment was administered, is that the reason the medical team ignored it? I unforbade it a week ago, and she's still walkin' around with a projectile weapon stickin' out of her leg. Is this normal?

She'll clean herself eventually. When she does, she'll take the bolt out of her leg.

She used to haul logs and stones, but then she took a bolt to the knee, huh?

Interesting. Turns out I had to savescum (another dwarf went moody and demanded shells--my map has no means of acquiring shells), but thanks for the input.
