The Scout and the Warrior will sail west between two brigs, shooting a broadside into both at x=-17. Once they've fired, turn north until they're at y=14 with the Nottingham. Reload with Chain rounds on the way, port side first.

The Nottingham will turn to have her bow facing the enemy, but otherwise remain still while she reloads.

They were able to have chain loaded in time to fire this turn.  Both ships get into position and fire the chain shots into the rigging (rolls 10/10/16/13 dealing 11 to Brig 2 and 8 to Brig 1) and manage to bring down all the masts on both ships [damn good rolls].  The enemies fire back (one cannon per target rolls 6/3/4/8 vs dc 5 dealing 10 to Scout and 15 to Warrior).  The enemy slows to a stop, using their momentum to change direction (one facing East, two North) but having no propulsion left.  They seem to focus on reloading the cannons.

Alright, time to bombard them with grape shot from the northwest. That should allow us to get some good broadsides off on them without either being able to properly fire back. We'll form a queue, even, one ship firing at any time while the other two are reloading.

You position the Fleet to the NW, placing Brig 1 Between yourselves and Brig 2 Preventing either Ship from being able to fire at you.  The Nottingham Fires its port Cannon (roll 10 vs dc 10) sending pellets flying across the deck.  You see a couple of people drop.  From the entrance of the inlet, you see the Clipper starting to exit.

Start loading up with chain, but flag the Clipper not to inferfere if they value their lives.

Your fleet holds its position,  and the Brigs hoist their white flags.  The Clipper holds its position as well, setting itself in the entrance to the inlet.

The Brig's captain signals the reason of the attack was because you are a Buccaneer.  The port signaled them as you appeared, so they attempted to catch you in an ambush.  They are under the employ of a CPT.  Georgio Otheilo, a pirate who has tormented this area for 2 decades.  You have started making a name for yourself as a pirate hunter, so he wanted to make an example.  Apparently, it has backfired.  However, you can expect more attempts to be made.

Ask if the Clipper at the entrance working with the Brigs.

Also, can I head back to sea without getting in range of the fort?

Are you attempting to board the ships and figure out a way to take them with you (you can attempt to have your carpenter to fix the riggings) or do you have other plans?  You are not able to tow them with your Caravels.

There are 19 men available who seem willing to join.  The Clipper shows no sign of leaving its position, so you have clear access to leave.
