Well, I created my adventurer, because I'm impressed of Hugoluman's kobold story and I finds fun in being one man army.
I hope you will like it.
I will add the next chapters in first post from time to time.
- Are you sure that you want to go? - Urist asked.
- Aye.
- But do you know, what happened to Zuntir Luzatkonos?
- He just had bad luck and sleep too long in bogeymen's territory, don't worry - Atir Zonmasos answered - I just can't still sit here when so many dangerous beasts rule over in the world.
- Well... You won't kill them by yourself.
- Gaahh! I bet I will kill at least five monsters until something happens to me.
- That's would be great, my friend - Urist responded - I so hope you will make this world safer, be careful.
- Of course, I will, bye!
Then Atir left the Acesinges, he took his bronze spear, steel shield and went to his destiny.
- He will be well - said human merchant, who stands behind Atir's friend - He is experienced in fighting.
- I'm not sure, Menzor - dwarf still observed his outgoing friend - Maybe he is trained and 10 years younger than me, but he didn't had a real fight and is too impulsive.
- You are pessimist, ya know? Let's go drink some beer and if you want, I will send somebody to watch Atir's progress, okey?
- Sound's good - Urist smiled - Let's go, I'm thirsty.
Few days later, Urist as usually trained his skills in spear fighting, dodge and blocking with shield. Beasts often attack the town and anybody, who can handle weapon, is really needed. Oddly is that the Acesinges together with Polishpaddles, the mountain home from Urist with Atir arrived, still can send squads against goblins.
He knew that anybody, if want survive in this world, must train.
"Mr. Urist Isdenletmos! Mr. Urist Isdenletmos!" - Suddenly scream raised in the air, Urist saw the human, who was sent to observe Atir.
- What is going on? Atir need help!? - dwarf asked nervously.
- There is no longer anybody to rescue - answered winded scout.
- W-what!? - Urist yelled and grabbed man by the arms without releasing his equipment - What happened to him!?
- He entered into ettin's lair... and was dented into land - human answered and lowered his head.
- Oh no! - cried and- So stupid! Stupid! Why I let him into wilderness!?
- It isn't your fault, he wanted go alone into danger. His free will.
- Yes, I know, but I feel I could stop him from that.
Urist released the scout's arms and went to home, which he shared with Menzor and other humans.
- Our condolences, Urist - Menzor sitting at the table with other mates - That it's too bad for us all.
- Yes, I know - dwarf answered.
Then he looked at his steel spear and bronze bismuth shield which are still held in his hands, he felt what he should to do
- Oh come on! You too!? This is madness! - Menzor yelled, when few days later Urist prepared his spear, shield and other stuff and went to the exit of the town. He was sure to do it.
- Madness? - dwarf turned to human - Yea - He laughed lightly - This is our dwarven strength and also weakness. Power, which permit us to flood terrain around fortress with magma to burn siegers and also give possibility of hammering the dwarf, who failed making crafts at time for noble, but we will live in this world forever - then Urist left the town.
"You crazy man" - Menzor said sadly and went to home
Some time later, in that same day, Urist came by the map to Lelgo's Goldqueens lair, The Adorable Music.
"Atir, I will avenge you" - dwarf said quietly, when he saw friend's partly skeletal corpse near entrance.
A huge hole in the ground led speardwarf to small corridor, further was a room, but to have look at whole room, he had to sneak out the corridor.
Barely dwarf entered the room, from his left side raised the deep voice:
"Hah, the next dwarf, who want to kill me, so stupid."
- You gonna die in pain, Lelgo! - Urist yelled - You gonna lie here and beg for mercy!
- What a bravery, previous man was so frightened that barely held his spear. However, prepare to die!
Ettin charged at opponent and tried to smash dwarf, but he managed to dodge monster's attacks. He prepared his spear and attacked ettin's foots and legs, heavily tearing it.
Enemy fell on ground, but still was able to attack. Warrior still dodged punches and began to stab other parts of creature's body and also stabbed into first head, killing it.
-You are the demon, it isn't normal! - Lelgo screamed and started crawl through other corridor outgoing from room. Dwarf slowly followed him and threw stones and clusters of ground.
- No, I'm just a dwarf, Atir's friend... and you fate!
- Never! - ettin yelled and turned at room direction and started crawl towards dwarf, who stepped back to room. - I won't die by so poor creature!
Dwarf again stabbed monster several times, never giving him a chance to hit.
- Are you still sure you won't die? - speardwarf asked - You looks badly.
Ettin choke up for several minutes.
- Pp-please... end my pain...
- I don't hear you - Urist smiled - can you say this louder?
- Please! Kill me! - monster cried.
- Well... nope, die in pain, son of dog.
Urist waited several minutes, until his enemy suffocated, then throw out his body from cave. Next he taked Atir's body, spear and shield and put into room's niche, covered with rocks and lighted up 2 fires on sides.
"Here is Atir Zonmasos, the brave dwarf, who fighted against Lelgo Goldqueens, the ettin" - Dwarf writed this senstence on wall behind the grave and went to sleep.
In the morning Urist searched cave but nothing was here. He left the hole and thought what he should do now. Atir always wanted make this world safer, this is beautiful idea. If Urist managed to perform test, where his friend failed, it means he can satisfy Atir's dream. Free world from at least a part of living monsters. Become a hero. But he needed a equipment, in town rather won't be armor for him.
"Maybe I should made my own armor?" - Speardwarf thought - "I think only bones will be only material suitable for this in this conditions".
He hunted animals by throwing rocks and his large copper dagger for meat, skins and bones. He made boots and breastplate from giraffes's bones and also waterskins. Then he looked at map and saw that on south's desert, near ocean, not very far is a shrine, next monster to kill...
"Let's go".
When came at place, he was ready, he had several small rocks, dagger, and always he can also throw a giraffe meat and waterskins.
Urist sneaked at shrine, The Scaly Tails, and saw that the desert titan, Odkish the Hairy Desert is a amethyst color haired sauropod, he was gigantic.
Dwarf started throwing rocks at titans, but this caused only bruises, when he run out of rocks, he trhrowed waterskins and meat, still causing only bruisings...
He is lucky enough monster didn't saw him.
Speardwarf sneaked towards him, prepared his large dagger and throwed with showing up for better accuracy, dagger hit Odkish, tearing his muscles, but that wasn't all, what was needed to kill him.
Titan spitted a strange frozen extract, which hits in Urist's chest, but it caused only bruise.
"Better avoid it, I don't know, what it can do with me" - dwarf though and charged at enemy and started stabbing it and avoiding frozen extracts.
After a little long time full of stabbing, dodging and bruises, Urist managed kill his opponent, then he butchered this with steel spear, of course, he can do it with copper dagger, but steel is sharper.
When he did his work, he taked his skull and by modify along with bones, he made the bone helm, his first trophy.
Urist took dagger, meat and his new helm and went to river on east, sun was low at west. He plan to go to river, drink some water and go sleep.
At place, dwarf realized that he forget to take waterskins, so he went hunt a vulture, which was flying around.
After making a waterskin and filled it with water, speardwarf made fires around him to have defence against anything, what would attack him at sleep.
In night he felt strange, Urist knew something is here, dwarf standed to see over fires, but didn't saw anything, he taked some lumps of ground and waited...
Fires faded, then from shadows leopard jumped out at dwarf. Urist was pushed back at river.
"A biggy catty wanna play? Ok!" - speardwarf though and then he taked his dirt lumps and threw these at animal. Enemy suffered to hits, so Urist left from river and killed leopard with his spear.
Dwarf made another waterskin and then went sleep again.
"Ahh! Another day and maybe another monster to kill!" - Urist said to himself. He took his stuff and went to next lair at western south end of land: Fatedies.
Dwarf stood over the trapdoor and prepared his weapon - "Good, let's go!" - speardwarf though and entered inside.
- Hello sweety! - Meli, the lumbering troll said - Do you want to be my... husband? You know, I'm a little lonely when my old love, Ukap, went away... - Meli smiled and blinked flirtatiously.
- Rather no - Urist said little angry, because he was seen - I'm gonna just kill you, no offense, ma'dame.
- If I won't be with you, anybody won't be! - monster yelled and charged at dwarf.
Speardwarf jumped away and struck at Meli's leg, knocking her to ground.
- You bastard! - troll screamed - attacked again.
Urist still dodged monster's attacks and hitted her with spear and threw dagger, rocks, dirt and... giraffe meat, again.
In one time dwarf hitted cut off her trunk and also struck her several times with his shield. Later, at last, she died.
Speardwarf took the trunk as trophy and searched other rooms for treasure. he found a pestle, mortal and... lead ladle.
"It isn't normal" - dwarf though and took this too. Urist threw corpse away from lair and went sleep.
"This is so good day" - Thothil Sternpage though - "What to do today? Hmm... Maybe go steal some goodies from that human town? Yeah, nice idea, they're really weak, ok, I only sit here for moment, it's nice here, in my hom- Ouch! What is it? A rock? Ouch! Again?! Ouch! What's going on?! Arrghh!! It hurts! Dd-dagger? Where from this is? I'm fell bad... I-must-go-on-surfa- Arrgh! Who are you? Dwarf!? What? That's spiky spear... You...!... Ouch... Arrg! Yes, so lovely sun... Arghh! Leave me alone, please! So much blood... Pplease, don't kill m- Whaaah! Uh... Why everything is getting darker? Wwhat's... goin...on....."
An occupant of Gleamedflowers bled out.
At noon, humans informed about the weird dwarf, who entered into their village. They're concerned, who are he. Villagers came to the unknow incomer.
"Who are you?" - a random human asked. The dwarf, hidden in bone mask didn't answered. Villagers were really interested
- That spear... that shield... - Menzor, who arrived after moment said - Urist?!
- No... - character looked - I'm your grandma.
- What?
- Nah, just joking, it's me, Urist!
- I though you are dead! - Menzor said happily and hugged the dwarf.
- Oh come on! It wasn't so hard, that were just two ettins, lumbering troll and desert titan, no big deal...
- Wait, what?! - Menzor shouted - You are a hero, man, anybody didn't killed ever at least two monsters! - then human turned to crowd - Come on everybody! Let's party time!
Townmen shouted enthusiastically - "For our new hero!".
In the party was a much of booze, tasty food, booze, many people, booze, Urist's stories of his adventures and of course, booze. People danced even around the Urist's house, so many men was there then.
In later part of party Menzor shouted:
"Your fame will spread around the world Urist Watchfulcobalt, but you should have a title and I have idea for one. What you thinks about Urist Watchfulcobalt The Livid Sacks of Silencing?"
- Well... - Urist said while scratching his head - Sounds good.
- Praise Urist Watchfulcobalt The Livid Sacks of Silencing forever!
And the party continued until the morning.
