HOLD IT! There appears to be a discrepancy in the field, and according to the Tacticus Guidebook to All Things Timey-Wimey Vol XI UNIVERSE Edition, when such a discrepancy occurs, be it due to player oversight or other influence, the field is to be split into two alternate timelines A and B, connected by a timegate lane between the two. In this case Timeline A shall be the world in which the Swordsman drowned and the murky pool irradiated, and Timeline B is one in which the swordsman lived and the Butterfly was summoned. All players must now clarify which timeline they are effecting when making their turns.

I invoke the rules of quantum waveform (Tacitus Advanced and Ammended 1952).  The wave from the drowning swordsman is shifted from timeline A to timeline B.  This returns the swordsman in Timeline A to a quantum state of half-life half-death because the agency of his death is no longer there.

In each case, you failed to specify which timeline you were affecting, and so the effects will be split in mirror form between the two timelines, as per the Rules of The Complete Book of Tacticus Split Timelines Caused by Discrepancy in the Field.
