Welcome! This is a mod that aims to eventually convert Dwarf Fortress into the world of Final Fantasy 9. Even if you've never played it, I'll hope you'll give it a try, as it has some fun new races and animals to try out.
Goals:-Eventual total conversion to FF9 (all vanilla items reduced or deleted)-
-Expand the world with 10 new races, all distinct-
-Include entire bestiary of FF9 monsters into the game-
Current Features:Races:
-Genome
-Summoner
-Black mage
-Burmecians
-Cleyrans
-Qus
-Humans
-Dwarves
-Moogles
-TonberriesNew flora and fauna -Over 40 new animals so far!-
New weapons, armor, items, and ores
-Genomes-
Your default playable race. They are small humans with a prehensile tail. To make up for their lack of size, they are naturally gifted in a few skills. They tend to settle in cold places and forests.
-Summoners-
Humans with a small horn on their heads. They can call on powerful beings to do their bidding in battle. You'll find them in drier areas.
-Black Mage-
A race of artificially-created beings with powerful magic. They have several powerful spells at their disposal. They settle in forests.
-Burmecians and Cleyrans-
Two civilizations of the same race, a rat-like humanoid. Burmecians are a honorable people, who value warfare. Cleyrans are those Burmecians who disliked such ways, and split from them to live a more peaceful life. Burmecians will build large settlements on the plains, while Cleyrans favor more open settlements in drier areas.
-Qus-
A strange, amphibious race that lives in wetlands. They'll eat just about anything and are always on the lookout for new foods to try.
-Humans-
Not much different from your default humans. They live in the mountains, however.
-Dwarves-
Not your default dwarves. These strange squat beings live in the trees and sunshine, and are fond of nature.
-Moogles-
A furry monster race that settles in caves. They're not very good on their own, so they can be often found as pets of other races.
-Tonberries-
A lizard-like monster that lives in the caverns. They seek revenge against their fallen monster brethren at all costs.
Current Known IssuesGenomes have GRASP on their tails to make them prehensile. This means they come wearing mittens and gloves on their tails. Nothing much can be done about this, as this behavior is hardwired.
Bombs may or may not be way too hard to kill. Your caverns may end up being very !!FUN!!
Summoning currently results in becoming naked. Yeah.
Can't really do anything with moogles. Don't take them.
