After skill is legendary, any extra benefit from training it?
« on: September 22, 2012, 03:03:19 am »

Let's say I have a legendary dodger, fighter, you-name-iter, x/2600. After this point, is it worth it to keep training?

I mean, in combat situations, do I even notice any real benefit from upping skills that are already legendary?

Well, you can train all way up to legendary 5.

Yes, of course I can train it until the cows come home, but is it worth it?

Well, i am pretty sure he would become invincible terminator robocop, with Legendary 5 everything. And candy armor. Go for it!

Indeed. Note that in adventure mode, there is not skill cap at legendary+5, and skill levels always raise performance. I had an adventurer
that reached skill user legendary+153. At this point he could travel through hell killing demon packs withouth taking a sweat.
I think i managed to kill three hundred demons until one with deadly dust managed to kill me.

+153? Lies, a new version of DF would've been released twice by then.

You'd be surprised how stupidly easy it is to train up shield user (and fighter, I think) by exploiting the unlimited equip bug. If I remember correctly, the experience gain per block is multiplied by the number of shields equipped. I know I got over level 100 on one of my characters that way.

If you pick up a shield and then (r)emove it from your backpack it will be put into one of your hands, regardless of how much stuff you already have in your hands. Repeat several dozen times, and nothing will be able to hit you.
