Nope definately the trees
Think about it logically. Trees hate everything that walks. Elves walk.
Therefore it would stand to reason that Trees hate Elves.
But they cannot fight Elves like they fight Dwarves and Humans. With those two, at least they know their apathy means total destruction. But with the Elves, they cannot fight back without destroying themselves. So they have to live with the constant parasite as opposed to a consumer. Much like a goblin shaving a Dwarf's beard to make Dwarf fur thongs, the Elves shear entire limbs from trees to make their crafts.
It is one thing to kill your enemy, it is another to shame them.

Well I heard a few people requesting a newsletter. Exactly how does one start a newsletter and what does one put in it? XD
Because I have no idea.

WRONG SIR! Trees do not hate all that walks, they hate all that has cut into them, all that has USED them. The forests, while incredibly monstrous to us with the usage of the parasites known as elves, are in fact merely defending themselves. In truth it was WE, the humans and dwarves who started this war. The forests are simply fighting back, in the most fearsome way they could imagine.

(also anyone like the song I linked?)

I do think you are right, and since the Trees can live for centuries they remember the first tree that was felled, so none but the werebeasts and vampires remember it aside from the Trees themselves.

I concur, the trees attacked me first! Why else do they keep growing closer to my walls, if not to invade with their birchy limbs? They seek the taste of blood.

Indeed. The only good tree is that Norse one, Yddgrasyil or however you spell it.

Yggdrasil, and I agree. The only OTHER good tree is a dead tree.

Whoa whoa whoa, what about the Giant mushrooms? Do the elves share a kindred spirit with them as well?

Italian dorfs are their mortal enemies. Especially the ones that wear suspenders and funny hats.

Not until next version, but then...

Wait will we have those? To the future of the fortress!
