What would happen?

Probably form obsidian in some places, but most of it would probably still disappear into the pits. And if obsidian formation hasn't blocked up the hole you used to dump it all in there, the demons will still fly up and throw a party with your dwarves. The only way you are going to fill the circus with a liquid is if you plug the pits, and the sides of hell.

ANYTHING caught under a cave-in, cast in obsidian or encased in ice is DEAD.  As in not even enough to send home on the back of a postage stamp, dead.

It makes me think I can flush the toilet that is the circus.

It doesn't matter how big of a hose you have - it's impossible to fill a bottomless container.

But it is possible to fill a partially bottomless container if rate-in is greater than rate-out and the container shape is friendly.

Or modding a disease in blood so you can empty pools of elf blood rain into it?

EDIT: although, I don't know if I'd ever try to do what you're suggesting. Thralls are horrific, clowns are !!FUN!!, mixing the two can't be a good idea.

Certainly a dwarfy idea, though.
