See if we can get anything like a PPC(Particle Projection Cannon for those who don't know battletech) for the ship, or failing that a cruiser grade phaser

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

And why I think that puting AI on charge on turret is quite safe even if we don't trust him.

He can do 3 dangerous things
a) use turrets to fire at us
b) don't fire turret at enemies
c) Fire at neutrals to provoke them
But all this will lead to his own death, something that he shouldn't be interested in.
He can't get control on all ship, kill us, and act on our own if turret will stay unlinked to the rest of the computer system (That mean that this turret need it's own sensors and targeting, but it's logical for an automatic turret)

HQ resources cheaper than MQ? I think it's a typo

Shopping  list: ( or rather learn prices list)

1) I think we should try to look for 4th turret, preferably a fully automated one, so we could unload the whole AI in it later, replacing it's software ( bonus if we buy it without software, cheaper)
2) Failing that, buy computers and make fully automated turret out of our quad railgun one.
3) Look for new reactor(s) or way to repair existing reactors
4) Try to find a price for our dissembled military grade reactor... maybe it's not worthless here
5) I'd consider selling poltergeist missiles, they can cost quite a lot here. 2 Zephyrus Orbit to air missiles are good candidates for sale, too. We aren't planning to bomb someone
6) Also, ask for the price of missile launchers.  We don't  need 4 of them and cruiser sized missile launcher should be quite rare on the market
7) Look for a badass weapon that can replace a missile launcher
8) Buy personal scale assault rifles


After purchases we should go hunt pirates
im with this except for #6.
we might have to engage many, many baddies at once. plus, if we have them loaded with diffident rounds if we want to fire, say, flares and we have one loaded with them allready we dont have to wait for unloading and reloading before we can fire one.

as far as I  can say we can fire any missile loader, GM never  treated missile launchers individually for purposes of loading\unloading...
abd we never  came close to firing 4 missiles in one go

Besides, I propose to replace missile launcher with a new, fun gun... of cause another possibility is to replace 1 or two powerhungry lasers... but I'd rather not too ( except we get veryyyy interesting offer for the lasers)

i mean if we have 4 missiles loaded with different things then we can respond more intelligently to different situations.
even if we have 2 different things loaded among the 4 launchers we can still respond to more threats then is, say, they were all loaded with the same thing.
like say we have 3 with normal rounds and the 4th with a decoy.

loaded. There are no separate magazines for every launcher in the stats.

And ability to use 4 missiles per one salvo may be somewhat useful much later, the cash (and a new gun) will have immediate impact. We still have quite fucked ship and need to do many repairs. 4.5 power per round isn't adequate to our needs.
Of cause we should consider selling the launcher only if we get a nice offer

It turns out fully automated turrets are rather hard to find, as even commercial ship's are nowadays equiped with a central targetting and firecontrol system. The only fully autonomous systems you can find are a pair of old flak guns, which, while inefficient are remarkably reliable. You doubt they would be capable of supporting an AI though. You think about automating one of your other turrets instead, but while that's a possibility, the problem poses itself that the turret doesn't have it's own targetting and sensor systems.

Not unsuprisingly, the supply of Cruiser sized reactors is rather small, and there's no demand for them either. Even if someone wanted that kind of power output, they wouldn't have the tools nor the supplies to repair it. Likewise, the supply of Cruiser sized weaponry is limited, though you do manage to find some nice ones. Almost all of them are rather damaged though, and certainly outdated.

You manage to get a nice offer for the Poltergeist missile, as well as for the Zephyrus missiles. Someone, who logically prefers to stay anonymous, is willing to buy the entire supply for 2200 credits.
Offers for the missile launcher vary wildly, but you expect you can get between 500-800 credits for the weapon. Most likely, it'll be used to defend some station somewhere.

Those are three very dangerous things to happen. We should at least verify sanity before thinking about that.

Think we could fix up that PPC? Or we could have a looksee at that unidentified weapon...

500-800? Nah, we don't sell missile launchers for that....

2200 for not that useful 4 missiles is good... SELL SELL SELL

I think we bought personal weapons, right? Because we spent 100 credits somewere

I suggest to buy:

1) 10 complex electronics   
2) 25 electronics
3) Automated flak turret:
4) Weapon scrap and parts:
5) Advanced tools: ( we have some tools, but those are more metal working, that one for electronics)
6) 5 military grade hull plates

And then
a) try to upgrade that old turret with all that new electronics to make it capable to host the AI and improve it's sensors (if it will need fewer electronics then we buy, store some, but I intend it to act like AI's brains, when we will link it to the main system... Surely do not locate the core in the turret itself, only nearby)
b) Replace flak cannons of the turret with a pulse laser, one that carry a very serious punch for it's size, but goes like 2 second active\6 seconds recharging\cooling...
That makes it's ideal to hunt small targets or weak points of large ships ( like shoot in the missile, destroy it with powerful burst, find new target spending that 6 seconds that laser needs to recharge )
c) Install the turret on the place of the missing one
d) store what is left from the original flak in the cargo hold ( At the worst we may sell it to one colony..... )
e) Make it easily turnoffable by analog means, and have a crewmember responsible for that
f) If we are still paranoid, we may use some other system to run the turret until we trust the AI enough


Missile purchases:
3 -  Dragonfly anti fighter missile
4 -  Dummy missiles
3 -  Firelance missiles
1 - Emegency flare missile ( I want to setup a trap for the pirates with it)
Load all in the launchers

Also buy 10 Mosquito missile for our fighters, reload  their launchers with it. put unloaded missiles and excess mosquitoes into the cargo hold . And buy 3 emergency flares for later use\real problems

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

See what that unknown weapon is and if its anything that could be good buy it, otherwise see what needs to be done to fix the PPC and buy that. I agree with the missile purchases UK has aid, but not the turret. We can just cobble together a computer system from the electronics and have the AI run an unimportant system until we can trust it then have it become our targeting system

The unknown weapon isn't a weapon, it's a potential plot point.
