We're fighting a stationary enemy.  We don't need grenades.

explosives are a great way of dispersing large groups heading at you. even more so if its in the center of said group.

What "enemy" are you fighting? The AI has seemed more helpful and sad that she can't do anything than, you know, GLaDos.

Pretty sure she released a bunch of pit animals. True we haven't engaged any though...

I am Diana, friend of the humans that visited your ship. It's yours, right? We didn't know that and will leave it soon
This is not my ship. I am, like you, just a guest, a lone traveller looking for a ride. However, I'm afraid that just as you didn't have any permission to enter, I'm afraid I can't let you leave.
Suddenly, both teams are rudely interrupted by a series of small explosions and metalic noises. They rush towards the airlock, only to find that someone or something has triggered the lockdown protocol, sealing the door and melting the internal locks shut.

In order to make things were worse, a series of screeches clearly indicates that there's something alive out there, and that, quite probably, it wants to eat you.

"You were saying?"

Thought his does change my earlier dismissal of Asea's plan.  I forgot about the "pittbulls."

Forgot that.

...ebbor, how common are AIs? Common enough that it's completely normal for an old cruise ship to have one and a sign of our poverty that we don't, rarer than gold, somewhere in between?

Yeah, I mean I have to agree with you that an AI would be useful, and quarantining this one in a separate network might work.  But first, we gotta get out of here in one piece.  You should try resolving this through computing, but it looks like we're gonna have to blow some robitches the hell up.

Well, let's see how she reacts to my question of if she could beam herself over to the Salvation for George to work on. If that works, you can escape without worrying about the AI.
If not, well, AIs would need to be pretty darn rare for George to put one above the lives of his teammates.

If not, well, George would have to be pretty darn stupid to put one above the lives of his teammates.
There, I think you made a typo.

Either or.
If AIs are ultra-rare, a functional one might be worth a life or two. Especially if it's Carl.

Carl?  I think you're misspelling a name or something.  I really hope you're misspelling Dumas, and not Charlie.

Carl is an NPC George has mentioned a couple times this arc. Made up for the purpose of being a moron.

Really?  That's a relief, I thought you meant Charlie.
I try to not pay attention to NPC's.  You can get attached if you're not careful.
