Rats. That could have been... better
Ah, well.
Concentrate fire on the frigate with undamaged weapons!
After this  encounter we really need to get the Crawlers to make repairs.

What's stopping you from using them now?

Too much danger. The way the rolls have been going, they'll be blasted off the ship for sure.

Charlie checks Shia as soon as it is safe to do so.  He treats any wounds that won't heal reasonably quickly by themselves.

Stop that gamblers fallacy, rolls are independent from each other

We got some bad luck, I'd prefer to see the merc damaged not us. On other hand it's very good that freighters got no serious damage

New plan

1) Send crawlers to repair cargo bays, enemy is pretty damaged so chances  are that they'll not hit our crawlers. Depressurized cargo bays is an awful situation.
2) We  lost our  targeting...... still fire lasers at the same target and let's hope that rail guns will hit
3) Dodge a lot, let's not allow them to hit us with another laser shot.
4) Red rocket attacks the frigate with disabled point defense
5) Try to patch that targeting a bit

Diana sends congratulations to the fighter pilots and promises a hot kiss after they'll return [/i]

Besides, for the crawlers to get hit, they'd need to hit the damaged section again. (At which point you'll be in a whole lot of trouble, since there's no armour left there.)

Yeah, the odds of the rolls staying the same are technically less likely than the rolls changing, unless Ebbor has weighted dice.  Which would be really dickish of him.

Shia slumps against a bulkhead in a passageway with a light flashing and casting red luminescence about the cabin. There are two obvious burn sights on her skin, little entrance and exit burns on her left leg. She has stopped here because she is having difficulty walking and knows not to overwork herself without medical treatment when shocks are involved to avoid compartment syndrome.

She can see and hear people moving quickly about but all she can manage to do is move, mostly, out of their way.

Shia can hear Charlie yell her name over the blaring sirens and yells back in reply to let him know she is alive and wounded..

I can't say that we are too unlucky, probably one hit in engines or reactors would be much more unpleasant than this 3... And it's good that merc is undamaged. For rest the rest of the  battle we should concentrate on defense: dodge, hide behind asteroids, stay near PD freighters. Merc and red rocket should be able to finish damaged frigates
Of cause we should keep firing our lasers, but our bad targeting makes railgun shots almost useless
Our main problem is that it quite likely that pirates have some nasty reinforcements, if we are against bigger ship it would be easier to hit even with our bad targeting, even miners railgun may come handy

Point defense is a necessary upgrade. For now though,
Max clambers back into his chair, having been knocked out by the impact.
'note to self. Wear a seatbelt. And try evading the missile next time.'

I'd say going all out evasion this turn. We already have enough firepower underway to probably cripple the pirates.

After the battle, we should spend some time repairing, especially the targeting computer. We could send the Cargo Shuttle and Red Rocket to salvage stuff as well if we have time. Just keep an eye out for more pirates.

Yep, but unloading lasers can't really hurt

We must try to patch it NOW, at least to a semi working state,

1. I meant the evasion option (probably should have made that clearer)
2. Yes, but I severely doubt that we'll finish before the end of the fight.
