Using a d20. Besides, the first encounter wasn't supposed to be a pushover either. Someone just had to crit their laser roll.

Sometimes I think that you don't read GM's posts. This frigates, are, most likely, only the beginning, we'll get  more enemies. It's going to be a hard battle not the one like we had before. I kinda expect hard damage

I don't mind that. Scraping along is what we do best!

Revised order:
Send red rocket and fighters to hide behind asteroid or in field and strike if either of the frigates get into range of them. reroute power from main engines to the lasers, railguns/massdrivers (I forget which one we have on the salvation), and thrusters, countering our speed so we can stop to aim more accurately but still perform evasive maneuvers if needed. Be ready to power (or have powered if we have the energy) the plasma cannon in case they come within range or if we need to stop missiles (can we adjust firing scope to make more of a wide spray cloud to affect missiles and other ballistic weapons.) Load the arrows ad have a slug ready.

Wait till stopped and then fire lasers at the closest one. Keep ballistic weaponry in reserve until we have an open shot.

Also notify the MMC ship that we are stopping so they can take cover behind us and not continue on without us.

Anyone agree?

hide behind some asteroid

We will not do this. We will fight and stand our ground. Our reserves may hide though. No warning shots, no posturing. Fire at will, center of mass or structure (this way we can maximize system damage. Our safest bet by far.)

I suggest focusing on one ship and having the other merc fire on the other one. That way we can take it down faster. I also approve hiding our fighters in the field for a suprise attack run. It also makes for a decent plan B if we need to make a run for it, where we run into the asteroid field to confuse their targeting sensors and missiles and when they start following us, they get missiles up the exhaust from our hidden fighters.

If you say so. How about we send our target info (where our weapons are pointed) over to them. That way they can decide what to do with it, focus our attacks in a massive show of force or even dispersal.

Anyone agree?

this will be a test for our armor, but I agree mostly
1) No time for reloading railguns, and I like slugs more. Arrows should be good for armor piercing but slugs give a bigger punch
2) We need PD freighter nearby
3) No need to hide red rocket, it may be handy in point defense
4) Mining bases should be advised to fire their heavy shots to force enemy to make evasive maneuvers
5) Do not dodge unless absolutely necessary, accuracy and steady aim are much more important than avoiding minor damage
6) We should concentrate our aim and fire on one target

Oh, and stopping have no sense in space, we just maintain course and speed

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

Slugs would become less useful with distance. Beyond that I'm fine with this.

...Hm, for booze smuggling weapons would be a plus and we could be Space All Capone, but we'd be breaking the law which is bad. So let's consider other options. Any hibernating, cute, fast-breeding animals we could buy fairly cheap? Feed a few, let them breed, get them into hibernation, sell for profit to lonely asteroid miners.
Nope. Just nope. That's my vote. We'd have a better time with commodities and that is only a minor thing. What we should be worrying about is all of this escorting we are supposed to be doing... * cough* *cough*
Yes, yes, I get it, we're discussing the current situation right now, don't bring this up to make the point that's been decided on.

Pretty much agreed on. Have the escortees hide, perhaps, but not us. It won't help, it will only delay.

float towards one that got projectiles in crew sections, kill all inside, repair, fly to ship, name as "ROCK 1"
so... yes, shoot crew compartments on one with projectiles, send me with someone else to go get it.

What?  You want to float towards a pirate cruiser with one other crewmember?  Have fun with that bro.  I'll think of some nice words to say at your funeral.  Or do you mean to shoot at the bunk rooms? Because they aren't sleeping right now, and we wouldn't even begin to know where that is anyway.

1. I think he wants us to snipe the crew compartment andfryer board it. I disagree, because the crew will be spread about in the ship, not all in one place, and we probably haven't got any experience in boarding actions.
2. I agree with Uk. Ranger / GotDamnMiracle
3. I know this discussion is old, but as for aims, Max is barely out of education, and is looking mainly for adventure.
