Corvette?
Max will not participate in the boarding action. Let the others have their fun.

Also, I'd suggest using the Red Rocket. The description makes it sound like that's what it's designed to do.

A corvet is described as a small frigate on wikipedia, so it's smaller.

That's exactly what I had in mind when writing it up. Heh.

I do believe I am in charge of boarding operations, and I fully encourage making one this time. It's the first time we got lucky like this, since it's intact to a large degree we can get quite a bit of loot out of it so don't blow it to bits. We can take this opportunity to get bits to repair our sensors and possibly other stuff too, not to mention snag weapons and missiles. We could also take this opportunity to get some more crew members if we are lucky.

I say yes to the boarding operation. Maybe forcing the pirates out at gunpoint with our ship weapons so we can get in their easier?

I support the idea, however I can't go myself... Hmmmm does that look bad?

Well, somewhere back, IIRC GM said that salvation should have 80  crewmen, Frigate is two sizes lower so I expect something like 10-20

Quote
That being said, they probably aren't expecting a boarding party let alone equipped for one.

I think in this setting it's quite typical to disable enemy and board him, I really expect that have all the needed experience, while we have none

Of cause we can make more nice holes with our lasers from point blank range, ensuring that crew is dead but that's reduces our loot considerably.

Do we even have a right to loot it? Maybe it's belong to MMC? Or to the government?

Well we should ask if they are interested and cut the same deal as we did with the last group.

Technically, you(and the Merc) disabled the ship, but the MMC owns the sector, and therefore any abandonned ships in it. So, detemining salvage rights might be interesting.

((Also, if the frigate's supposed to be 2 sizes lower, what comes in between?))

In modern navy it's corvette < frigate < destroyer < cruiser

Or we can buy the rights for a cut-down price especially if we are essentially saving them the cost of transportation.

IDEA:
We have a row missile, right?
It might be able to tow the pirate ship to the Salvation
Advantages: added fear factor
Disadvantages: might not be able to pull the weight.

Why waste fuel in tow missile? If we plan to board from Salvation it's much easier to just fly cloce

A missile will almost certainly use less fuel than a 200 metre long cruiser.

Firing missile in frigate will not make it any closer... It will just allow us to tow it

Winch it in? I'm sure that's possible.
