No to blasting it, it's disabled. We may either board it ( Should ask the merc if he have a boarding team) or just use that missile and tow it to base( can we jump while towing something?)

Of cause keep repairing our ship (use our scrap to patch holes, complex electronics to fix\upgrade targeting), refuel fighters (take it from cargo shuttle. 20\50 level would be enough) and load a new set of missiles to them.

Jumping while towing is completely possible, but the towed item will not jump along with you.

If we can't tow it... I'm actually okay with this.

You'll have to go without my injured ass though.

Let's try and negotiate the same deal with the mining vessel we did with the merchant last time.

Call on the remaining frigate to surrender. If it does not reply, blast it. Don't waste missiles though. Also, carry on patching up the ship.
Sounds good.

Mind if I ask why not?

The Jump drive warps/folds space in a semi bubble around the ship. Everything that's outside the bubble is left behind. Said bubble is quite tiny to prevent interference and limit energy use. Sure you could modify the Jump parameters to extend the field beyond it's normal range, but your jump generator is underpowered as it is. It won't be safe, and it'll take some time.

So it would benefit us if we could nab some profits, bounties, and whatever tech and equipment they may have on board.

It's so bad that we have no boarding team... Surely many pirates are alive. How many crewmen should we expect for the ship of frigate size ?

Regarding a frigate:
is any of several types of warship, the term having been used for ships of various sizes and roles over the last few centuries.
In the 17th century, the term was used for any warship built for speed and maneuverability, the description often used being "frigate-built".The introduction of the surface-to-air missile after the Second World War made relatively small ships effective for anti-aircraft warfare: the "guided missile frigate." In the USN, these vessels were called "ocean escorts" and designated "DE" or "DEG" until 1975 - a holdover from the World War II destroyer escort or "DE".

I'd say anywhere from 20 to 100 unless the term has changed in this era. Although they are pirates so it could be three guys running the thing or five hundred bodies crammed in that tin can. It's anyones guess. That being said, they probably aren't expecting a boarding party let alone equipped for one. Very few people on modern ships carry a gun, I imagine the same carries over for in space.

Well, somewhere back, IIRC GM said that salvation should have 80  crewmen, Frigate is two sizes lower so I expect something like 10-20

I think in this setting it's quite typical to disable enemy and board him, I really expect that have all the needed experience, while we have none

Of cause we can make more nice holes with our lasers from point blank range, ensuring that crew is dead but that's reduces our loot considerably.

Do we even have a right to loot it? Maybe it's belong to MMC? Or to the government?

I do believe I am in charge of boarding operations, and I fully encourage making one this time. It's the first time we got lucky like this, since it's intact to a large degree we can get quite a bit of loot out of it so don't blow it to bits. We can take this opportunity to get bits to repair our sensors and possibly other stuff too, not to mention snag weapons and missiles. We could also take this opportunity to get some more crew members if we are lucky.

I say yes to the boarding operation. Maybe forcing the pirates out at gunpoint with our ship weapons so we can get in their easier?

That can go so hilariously wrong, especially if pirates get reinforcements, but boarding is fun, and rewards are tremendous. So +1 to boarding

Diana contacts pirates and inform them that if they don't surrender to a boarding team, they'll get killed. Even if they defeat the boarding team somehow, that will not save them, because then they'll get killed in their ship by our main guns. Explain that prison is far better than death

IMO, We shouldn't try to hire them, because too many witnesses around... They'll spread the word that we employ criminals, not good for our reputation

If you're going for the boarding, please tell me how much boarders you're going to take with you. Also how many PC you send.

((Also, if the frigate's supposed to be 2 sizes lower, what comes in between?))
