Let's head out for now and come back when we aren't a pile of junk. I'm sure there are mor interesting jobs and space wreckage out there.

-detects life (small chance)
        -Demand surrender
        -If no, open fire
No 'send info home'? Really?

Heh.  :D Problem solved, right?
Heh, right. :D Except if you thought things through and didn't support the dumbest ideas thrown around, we wouldn't have another hole through our already wrecked ship and the drone wouldn't have sent off info about us. But you don't care, right?

snip
We could. But if we do so we take a risk that they don't know about us anyway.

We should send up a small craft to scout, and if no drones are seen for a certain amount of time, stay here. No point wasting all the possible salvage if they didn't actually get a call off.
If drones come, revert to plan A.

I agree with Dariush's first statement. Especially refers to GotDamnMiracle.
Feel GM is going to railroad us.

C'mon, this scrapyard search can go on forever. We can kill that one droid, but we won't stand a chance against many droids.

That said, I don't see a point in using force to drive people who basically have no regards for his own safety out. There is nothing to gain in shooting them if the yard owner has no intent to salvage them, unless there is something really important out there.
There are plans to salvage these things, and normally it happened every half year. (Half year dumping, half year salvaging). Due to recent troubles however, this has been shorted a bit. Also, the drones are programmed to ask for surrender first. You shot it though.

Also, ugly things happen when 2 jumpfields conflict,  for example when a wreck tries to jump into an area a salvaging shuttle is in. The drones have no jumpdrive for that reason, and the jumpdrives off all ships in the scrapyard are offline.

That being said:
I have 2 ways to hint you to move on, the first is sending the automated drones towards you, the next is dropping a burning wreck on top of you.

Sorry, forgot that. The drones are supposed to send info home then.

Well a story has to be developed somehow. You will make enemies along the way. Calm down.

Well, actually every single option includes the drone sending a message, as a properly drone should do. Only exceptions are a perfect stealth roll, or shooting it before it got out the message, which might have happened.

Point first: we are on a completely wrecked ship. We are faced with a small drone that needs to be just barely functional to send off a distress call. We would need insane amount of luck to destroy it sufficiently completely and sufficiently fast. Why do it if we could just sit it out? Also, we don't know what kind of crap will be raised when the drone doesn't return. In short, now we can be fucked in any way on a scale from 'slightly' (if the higher-ups suffer a bout of idiocy and decide that the call and the drone destruction were caused by an asteroid or something) to 'completely and urrevocably' (if the higher-ups suffer a bout of paranoia and decide that they're being attacked by some other empire or whatever) as opposed to 'not at all' if you guys listened to my suggestion. Thanks.

Which plan?  The one that involved launching an unarmed ship to distract the drone?  At least this way it's possible we destroyed it before it sent too much info back home.  The part of the ship it hit was not too important, probably less important than the smaller ships.  In any case, it's done, stop whining about it.

That said, let's get out of here!

Dariush had the other plan, which involved playing death again. Which might have worked, but might also have resulted in the ship being powered down while facing a hostile drone, or everyone being arrested by governement officials.

Nevertheless whatever you would have done, it has gone in my things that will haunt players later file.

Admit that the first power down is suggested by me.

But do not feel so well for the second power down. We can go unscathed if we succeed, but if it fails we might got ourselves disabled (like it opened fire first and rained metal upon us), and that means more time spent salvaging...

Try to explain your actions more especially when you go against consensus. That would lead to less ad hominem arguments.
