With no other info present :

I think we should suggest colonists to build a colony on the moon of Aquatic planet. It will be a good trade base in future, if the planet itself will get recolonized. Relatively easily available water is good, too

Gathering little more info about possible colony sites is good

And suggestion game about colony in this universe would be great.

I like this idea. Except make it desert or glacial and then we are talking.

I am hoping that colony game will be parallel? Not replacement? Cause I like this more than any colony game

We could see I there are any in-system jobs the colonists / locals have for us.
Legal or .... Not quite as legal.
Also, what sort of minesweeping equipment is there in this universe?

Cheap option is to shoot shrapnel at them to trigger the mines for a distance. The other cheap, and less destructive option is too send people out to disable them. Less cheap, but safer is using drones.
The total showoff option is using a powerfull ionized particle cannon to fry the mines internal circuits, either disabling or triggering them. Last option does entire minefields at a time.

What sort of drones? Will we need specialised drones, and if so what is their availability / cost?

Hmm, so maybe we should contact government of Prodistum-23 and offer to act like mine clearers? We have enough fighter sized rail gun shells and not bad targeting

But I like joining Prodistum-23's militia more... we need something to do, until our friends at colony mine enough resources. If they can repay us with basic stuff like food, repairs, ship parts ( 4th turret\reactors\computers) that would be enough.

Point is, why would they want to clear the mines? They are fairly confined. Also, you might also ask who exactly did lay those mines there, and with what purpose.

My thoughts are on the loot we can salvage if we clear the mines...
Also, agree to asking for militia job.

What sort of drones? Will we need specialised drones, and if so what is their availability / cost?
And you haven't answed this.

There are varying types of drones; which defuse with varying methods and succes rates. Crawler wouldn't work though. The fact that it doesn't have any autonomous propulsion systems kinda defeats the purpose of using a drone.
