found them.
Yup. I think this is the most "natural" way for people to go if they go left.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

So I wonder how many millions of hours of productivity have been wasted by people at work scrolling around here

Cheers for the image link.

Looks like when I first checked down the Mario holes, I hit "black=image not loaded".  I've been approaching those caverns from the other side (and hitting that same limit, so not yet joined it all up).  And I wasn't far from either western or eastern edges, it looks like.

(Ouch, network slow.  I'm sure it's not just me on XKCD/etc.)

I'm going to have a look high in the sky and down into the depths (again!) because you just know Mr Monroe isn't likely to miss a trick like that...

If you're scrolling along at ground level till you hit the two people wondering if there's anything up there, then go straight up, you'll hit a dude surfing on a 747.

From a thread discussing this on another board, there's apparently a bunch of other things up there too, but damn if I'm going to try and find them - at least underground the shape of the caves vary enough so you know you're actually moving.

I've got to say, my favourite 'what if?' that's been done is the robot apocalypse one.
Though, to be fair that one has some serious holes in it. It ignores the fact that all power plants (Including nuclear ones and hydroelectrical plants) are computer operated, and also forgets that the same counts for sattelites.(Orbital bombardement is dangerous.)

Most satellites aren't armed for orbital bombardment, though.

The satellite itself is a weapon. They're pretty big on average.

Amazing. This is like 100 XKCD strips in one.

Here's a much better map. It works like Google Maps, which means it doesn't spoil the entire map instantly.

Still, would they survive re-entry?
(also, derail imminent)

Depends entirely on the angle and speed of re-entry.

There's a reason all decommisioned sattelites are dropped into atmos over the Pacific or another ocean. With the computers being capable of choosing their angle of reentry , and there being no anti missile measures online. (Again, computer controlled), We will be facing a whole lot of 250 kg - several ton projectiles. The biggest one is 20 tons or something I think.

Depends entirely on the angle and speed of re-entry.
Also on size and composition.

Most of the sattelites are quite compact, and have an outer shell that is somewhat heat proof(against solar radiation). Most are entirely capable of reaching the Earth's surface, if only as a molten glob of metal.
