So I feel like okawaru got a significant nerf on the piety gain.  My MiFi struggled to get god gifts in the early portion of the game.  I died of course due to overconfident stupidity, but oka is definitely less of an easy mode god for melee chars now.

As for the Okawaru comment, you would be correct. Poking through the change log/release announcement, I found this:

Gods: Okawaru now gives almost no piety for killing and sacrificing weak enemies, but gives much more for winning difficult fights. Nemelex worshippers can now earn the ability to use the top four cards in a deck at once, replacing the old “Mark Four” ability. Nemelex also gifts fewer decks of summoning, and various cards have been adjusted. Kikubaaqudgha gifts randomised necromancy spellbooks instead of the fixed ones. Xom now usually times his pranks to coincide with interesting situations.

ack, a yasd for me. was doing pretty good as a tengu deathknight but during a bit of stair dancing i didnt realize i was getting hit (not use to the online health bar) dur... i died without even fighting back to an orc i thought was carrying an axe.
