Is it possible to use the tiles version at all for the tournament?

Yes Tiles on CDO CZSO CAO all count toward tournament. When you log onto server on the game list screen there should be an option (edit rc) that you can click.

edit - ok... so where is the file i need to edit to signify the team I'll be on for the tournament? It says "Participants in the tournament may form clans of six or fewer players. If you wish to be a member of a clan, you need to add a line to the top of one of your version 0.11 rcfiles like this:" But Where is that file?

Sign into CDO (or whichever), press '1' for version .11, and then press 'o' for options.

I'm in favor of Bay12 Cheesemakers.

I feel "cheesemakeres" may have different connotations with non-DF-players.  Besides, Lye Makers are rather a bit less useful.

That's even less appropriate!  Although it's even less useful in DF...  Maybe "Migrant Cheesemakers" for the "we don't expect to win anything but we're gonna do it anyways" team.

I've never won, I mostly play offline tiles, but I did play in the 0.9 tournament and post these results  namad has played 13 games, between 20081106 and 20110828, won 0, high score 517696, total score 524488, total turns 272246, total time 30:37:21.     (I played once or twice on the server in the past but really preferred offline tiles because server webtiles hadn't been invented yet at that time)


I was on a bay12 team for the 0.9 tournament, and played as namad, but... the tournament webpage is down (if the .09 tournament page ever came back up you could check there although it might not?) anyways I'm pretty bad, I'm not a total noobie, I've SEEN the orb of zot, even if that's the best I've ever done, heh...  if you guys have room for me on a B team or C team or something I'll gladly play (Although I haven't really played much of .10 or .11 I get really excited by the tournaments and it convinces me to try out the new versions)

Is it possible for us to make a third team? I'm totally hopeless, haven't won and never played web-tiles (although I have used it as a screensaver on occaision). I've got a bit of time on my hands currently, so I'll be able to get in at least a fair few games. Quantity, not quality of play unfortunately. If a third team of absolute no-hopers could be made, then I'll join up.

I'd like to play. I've played in the last few tournaments, though I never did particularly well. I almost got a rune once, and that's been the extent of it...

It's right at the top of the tournament information page linked in the OP. All you have to do is put a line that says

right at the top of your options file. You know how to connect to the Crawl server, right?
