Feudalism Redux
« on: September 17, 2012, 09:30:50 pm »

So I've decided to reboot the Feudalism Thread. I've madea a new map, so you can start claiming your fiefs in a bit, but, first, have some rules:

Spoiler: The Rules (click to show/hide)

Now here's the map:
Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)

For information about the history of Bay 12 Feudalism, this is where the mapping started in the original Feudalism Thread, and this shows the completed map. You can read around the the other pages if you want, but it's not really necessary for you to play.

EDIT: Amendments made to rules 6 and 8.

I'll take the map. I'll come up with house stuff in a bit.

Edit: I'll be Caox of House Redcliff. I'll be ruling over an island in a fair-sized lake that Renedos will be near, if that's fine with everyone. Caox respects and is nominally loyal to King Kadzar, but mostly keeps to himself. He has an agreement for control over trade in the lake, but aside from cracking down on pirates and getting a small percentage off of trade cross-lake, this amounts to little. Major exports include goat products, cats (smaller and easier to keep than average cats, but equally ferocious towards vermin), and metal ingots. Caox has chosen the title of Marquess, and no one really minds this.

Alright, here's the map. I couldn't figure out how to add text with the new PNG editor I got, so...the red circle is my castle, the whole green area the island, and the dark green area to the northwest a forest that someone can log if they must.

I'll add the name to your fief, if you don't mind. You gave no name to the fief, nevermind.

I'll start working on the map now, but here's the info (flag/crest coming later):

Order of the Red Dawn
Leader: Magnus Foreth, Brother-Commander of the Order of the Red Dawn and Lord of Fainart.

The Order of the Red Dawn was formed 82 years ago, authorized by the <insert kingdom name here> crown, to serve as the militant arm of the religion known as the Lionhawk Cult. All who join the order swear an oath of chastity, dedicating their entire lives to the order. Ranks within the order are decided using a mertiocratic system, instead of grating ranks based on the recruit's wealth.

The order is based on the town of Fainart, with the Brother-Commander serving as it's ruler. When the Brother-Commander dies, another is chosen from among the highest ranks of the order.

The purpose of the order is to protect the faithful of their religion, serve as escorts for priests and fight both heretics and infidels.

Him, you're right. Call it...The Isle of Fire. The city, Redcliffs, was founded on a mostly-extinct volcano. It won't erupt without magic or miracles, but just to be safe all buildings are made out of basalt.

If shit's going to be so large, I would vote for a increase in map size... Or a bit of a decrease sizes of future drawings. With shit that big only a few more people are even going to be able to fit.

I probably should have added as a rule that you shouldn't fill in big areas of the map with features that you don't plan to do anything with. It's okay to leave things blank, since that where other people will put stuff. Also, I'd prefer if we kept more of an MS Paint aesthetic. Even if you're not the best artist, things should at least look somewhat similar.

I just made my domain the size of the castle.

Oops. Could someone pretty up my little red most-of-a-circle to look more like a city of stone on a dormant volcano?

Also vote for bigger map.

Spoiler: map (click to show/hide)

I didn't redraw the island since I have no idea how GreatWyrmGold wanted it to look.

Not-crappy is fine. Mysterious is good. Intimidating is also good.

Also I notice people have been talking about magic. That seems pretty important to get clear right away. Is there magic in this world or not? Because I think there was not really magic in the last one. But I don't have a objection to there being magic here.
