Incidentally, I found a pdf online with a full, blank character sheet if anyone needs one.

I can already make that time, as you probably know Scel.

Anyone, what is everyones character ideal looking like right now? Era and plot nonwithstanding, what are you interested in playing?

My archtype is looking right now to a Rogue/Grifter sort-hiding, sneaking, lockpicking etc. I could also make a good intellectual sort of character....heh.

On the other hand, I'm open to any type of character here.

I hadn't actually planned that far. This will be my first time playing CoC, so...some sort of biologist with autism? Does that sound neat?

A sort of Doctor type would be neat, yes. Aside from the obvious-first aid-you could also help gather medical clues, do autopsies, etc. It's really up to your imagination what your role is.

I should stress to everyone, depending on how the GM sets the game up, proper investigation and strategic thinking usually beats kicking doors down and shotgunning everything-while it might come that, it's much easier to say, dynamite the haunted mine supports from the outside and collapse it, than charging in and getting eaten-or call in the cops to arrest those Cultists, making sure there is enough evidence to keep them locked up long enough to throw off their plan.

So we likely don't have to all choose characters that are ex-marines. :P

Alright...I'll make a doctor. This is set in the Roaring 20's, right? What are other people making?

Yes, it will be set in the 20s.

I'm going to be in the IRC for a few hours, so if you need any help with your character, join me!

I'm feeling out early ideas for a gentleman-adventurer character who ran across some rather disturbing things during an expedition into the Amazon, searching for answers now that he has returned to 'civilization'.

I'm very interested, but I'm just about to send in my laptop to get the broken keyboard repaired, so I can't commit. I've wanted to play a game of CoC for years.

Posting to watch.

This looks so fun... I have never played before, nor have I ever played Pen and Paper RPGs online. Craziness.
