Urk. Sorry.
So I want to recruit some troops.
Quote from: OP
Each pop unit equals five Battalions of soldiers. You can draft at most 10% of the population whitout damaging production. Soldiers can gain traits and xp. Permanent soldiers have 2 attack, 2 defense and 10 hp, while militia drafted on the spot only has one attack and defesne [/spoiler]
Does that mean I can recruit 5 Battalions of troops this turn and have them take action next turn without taking up a population that would instead go to working in a building?
Could I recruit millitia this turn and have them act?
Are basic troops (AKA without any extra armor/weapons) free?

Sorry if these questions were answered somewhere earlier.

Basic troops are free.
I have no idea about the action thing though.

Quote from: Warriors to Wavemotion, The rise of the Allorans
The Allorans were amazed at this discovery. It was instantly suggested that this was one of the mythical jump gates from the empire, and there was an outcry to claim it in the name of Alloris.

Research
All into Interstellar Theory[6/20]

Military
The five battalions train in the jungles, against each other and nature (Hoping for a better training bonus than basic training, but with possible damage due to the hazards they're training against.)
After five days in the jungle, the troops are suddenly attacked by a large group of wildlife. They are 6 legged, and slightly larger than a horse. Their jaws are filled with razorsharp teeth, and their sleek fur makes them hard to follow in this jungely environement. The humans of old Terra would have had a word for these beasts: Direwolves, seemingly plucked straight from their worst dreams. These things are not imagined though and trying to outrun them is impossible, they are always there, up in the trees, no matter how fast your men drive in their trucks. Your men see no other choice than circling the wagons and fighting them of.

Explorer I shall scan the Space Station
The explorer tries to scan the station. Getting information about the specific layout of modules is hard. It appears something is interfering with the sensors. However, they are pretty sure noone is alive in there.

If Battalions can be carried in cargo holds, then Explorer II returns to Alloris III. Otherwise, it scans the rings of Alloris IV.

It finds many interesting things. Not only are the materials in the rings considered valuable by your nation, it also contains thing that are certain not of natural origin. Maybe more artifacs, possibly of the same origin as the station.

Other
Move 2 pop from Industry to Labs.
Hold a Feast, using all spare food and an IC to help pop growth. Pop expands rapidly
If possible, the observatory scans nearby systems (useful once the jump drives are researched) Sadly, not possible.

Player Name: Emperor Botoro
Race name: Botoron
High resistance to non-blunt sources of trauma: +2 to defense rolls
Consume organic life: Sometimes Produces food when destroying organic units and buildings and such(Includes for example forests)
Slow movement and thought: -1 to movement in battle, -1 to initiative

Spoiler: Gungar (click to show/hide)

Local system description: Five planets in orbit about the binary stars Orin (A small bright blue star) and Niro (A star twice the size of our sun and a dull red). The Botoro are settled on the second planet closest to the sun, Gungar.
The first planet is rocky, and far too hot for the Botoro. The second planet is Gungar. The third planet is inhospitable, with no life to consume to provide fuel for the crystals, and completely lacking in minerals. The fourth planet is a large gas giant. The fifth planet is a truly massive gas giant, with a orbiting moon large enough (and getting enough light and heat) supportint indigenous life, it has medium minerals.

IC allocation
2 IC > Mine
2 IC > storage

Population allocation
-7 Farms:  5/7
-1 Industry: 0/4
-1 Fuel refinery 1/2
-2 Labs:  3/4
-1 Mine: 2/2 (laser drills active )

RP allocation
Ship based laser drills [0/20] > 3RP

Fuel allocation
1 fuel > Mines

Army orders
None

Navy orders
Extensively explore  orbit of Tirunog III again, and when ran out of fuel - transfer the ship to corporations

General action
Thank corporations for the assistance in system exploration, say that their help is no longer needed because we now have a proper refinery now. Note that we need new mining technologies to exploit all that newly found resources and ask them to assist in that

Firstly:
  • What do I need to analyse those artifacts without bringing them back?
  • If I want to collect artifacts, do I just need a ship with cargo space?
  • Is it possible to develop ion engines with better space efficiency (such as getting engines that only need 1 engine for every 3 size to get a speed point)?
  • I think I should have 2 fuel this turn.

Construction:
None this turn.

Research:
Continue research on medical infrastructure. If there is (admittedly less likely) a breakthrough on that, start work on ion engines.

Navy:
Have the Pioneer go back to the inhabited planet and conduct another scan of its inhabitants.
Have the Observatory scan the innermost planet.

Manpower:
If there is any population growth, prioritise fuel production over heavy industry.

Other:
Hold a feast with 7 units of food.

1. Decent rolls on the analysing check. Sensors might aid to.
2. Jup, cargo space
3. It's possible to have engines that do that, but not ion engines. They are by design weight and space inefficient, providing low thrust for lots of engine mass. (Sure, advanced ion will solve this problem.)
4. Will fix that. I shouldn't be doing updates this late.

Quote from: Warriors to Wavemotion, The rise of the Allorans
The artefacts discovered in the rings of Alloris IV were quickly gathered and brought back to the Alloran homeworld. there they would endure in depth study, in attempt to glean all knowledge of their properties and abilities.

Population
Find where those two pop units disappeared to, slap them on the wrist then send them to work in the labs.
one of the new pop goes to work on a farm, and the other in Industry.

Research
1 into interstellar theory.
1 into advanced scientific theory. (speeds up research)
2 into starship troop pods. (allows ships to carry battalions)

Military
The five battalions take some R&R (Regen health, and possibly a morale bonus?).
Both Explorer I and II collect artefacts from the rings until their holds are full and then to Alloris III.

Other
Consider what more the observatory can do for me.

BTw combat results.

Your soldiers are currently gathered in a halfcircle, behind fortifications made from trucks and what they could throw together in a hurry. Somewhere out there is the wolf pack that has been following you troops for so long. You reckon it won't be long till they charge you, and your back is against the wall. The Jungle and wolves surround you from 3 sides, a high cliff from another.

You order the soldiers to throw incendairies into the jungle. Soon most of it is engulfed in flames, and while most of them appear to have hit nothing but flames, the howls do indicate that at least a few of the beasts have been killed or scared away. When an attack stays out, your men get cautiously optimistic that they might have scared them away.

However, they are proven wrong when the beasts suddenly jump from the trees, and in no time the wolves are right on top of them, giving them no chance to fire. The beast tear through your ranks, and it takes some time before you're capable of mounting some effective return fire.Slowly, the tide of the battle swings your way, and the beasts start to suffer, being slaughtered by the dozen, before they are capable of breaking of and dissappearing into the jungle, waiting for the next opportunity to strike.

You load the wounded in the trucks, and depart, leaving the fire and dead wolves behind you. It isn't long before the remainder of the pack turns on you. Your soldiers open fire, cutting down the remaining wolves before they can even get near. It won't be long before you'll reach the civilized world, where you will be capable of helping the wounded.

Victory:
5 Battalion Infantery HP:[8/13] Attack: 2 Defense: 2
Trait gained  -Jungle combat [+1 to fight in Jungle like or otherwise covered/ obstructed terrain]

Enemy losses:
10 Units Direwolves HP:5/5 Attack: 4 Defense: 2 [Melee] [Stealth].

((narration is suboptimal, which is a problem on my side I hope to resolve soon))
