Prototypes of state-of-the-art binary computing devices are being shipped all over the world for testing, and with them, a very certain game. This is, to put things very, VERY simply, Steampunk Sburb in an alternate timeline of Earth where Abraham Lincoln's life was saved after he was shot. Telephones and/or telegrams are a common occurence, so if you wish to keep in contact with your coplayers, I encourage you to use Pesterchum.

Description/Background:

You are ANDREW. Although the usual thing would be to indicate that today is your BIRTHDAY, it is unfortunate to note that you have no way of knowing that, as you do not know what day your BIRTHDAY is on. Suffice it to say that today is the 13th anniversary of you being left on the ORPHANAGE DOORSTEP as a BABY. Oddly, you are the ONLY ORPHAN PRESENT, and have been for as LONG AS YOU REMEMBER. You are now a STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, if skinny, with SHORT BROWN HAIR, a mild and untreated case of MYOPIA, and wear a pair of RAGGED TROUSERS, a RAGGED WAISTCOAT, and NOT MUCH ELSE. Your ROOM is kept strictly TIDY at ALL TIMES, but does not have much of a chance of getting messy, seeing as it's basically a LONG ATTIC WITH A SINGLE BED IN IT.

You have a small number of INTERESTS, including MATHEMATIC QUADWIZARDRY, which is basically MATHS, but you pretend it's MORE INTERESTING THAN THAT, and programming PUNCHED CARD LOOMS (which you are absolutely useless at, and you should just give up already).

Description: Big guy, with pale tan skin and dark, straight hair. Scary and stoic.
Background: Born in the Rockies, Jordan is a half-Native American, half-Russian guy, around 14, who worked as a smith's apprentice for a while. Now he's almost six feet tall and, since his master got killed in a gang war (or equivalent), he took his smithing hammer and decided to earn a place in the world. Possibly as a smith, possibly as a warrior. He's kinda lost, heading from town to town and trying to do what needs to be done.

Well, a person's guardian is generally the person who looks after them - a brother, parent, pet, orphanage leader, drill sergeant, etc. It would seem that your character's guardian is already sort of dead, though, so it works out fine.
