Normally I don't use graphic sets for my playing pleasure, but our tentacle-y goodness just begs for some representation, so I'll be trying it out. Like so:
Yeah...we don't get the full effect in a still, with all the lovely writhing, but even so, yikes.

Albert Wesker's Journal, 26th Hematite, 1977
Success! Princess has been captured! On close inspection, he is uninjured from his battles, and apparently in good health.
Without his glorious and deadly shenanigans on the surface, we are free to gather edible plants and wood. Also, we have begun construction of a trade depot. We made need materials and specialized equipment to carry out our goals, and until I have an army of Princesses at my command, trade will be the best means to acquire these from neighboring settlements.
We will have to be mindful to avoid any other of these clouds, ready to seek the safety underground at a moment's notice. Meanwhile, we forge chains which will hold the kittens in place for the clouds inevitable return.
12th Malachite
The cloud has returned. I sound the alarm and await anxiously while the personnel gather in out main lab.
15th Malachite
The cloud has passed with no human infection. Sadly, with no infection whatsoever. Oh well. I am confident that within the year, I will have improved versions of all our domestic breeds.

Test subjects...errr...migrants have arrived. Their aid is quite welcome. They will advance our understanding of the 'B-virus' enormously. They do present some difficulty as we are still not flush with victuals. I do, however, have some plans in to remedy this minor problem. Eight new employees of Umbral have come, in all. Their training is...somewhat questionable. A potash maker? Most useless use of basic chemistry I've ever encountered. Fish cleaner? I respect your passion for anatomy, but we graduated from fish a long time ago, son. Find yourself a stray and get in there! Go crazy! This lack of ambition would sadden me in other circumstances, but makes what I must do that much easier, as it is.
The arrival of all these new faces has reminded me of my esteemed colleagues. We have been so busy with our own experiments, we have not spent much time together, of late. I have decided to remedy this, and made a point today to chat with my...well, friends...I suppose.
William has been analyzing the characteristics of Princess. He hopes to further develop the potential of the air-borne substance, and is working day and night on the 'C-virus.' I was very pleased with his equations, I cannot wait to see what results it yields.
Edward was quite bubbly. Apparently he has become romantically involved with one of our interns. I was a bit put off by this, to be honest. I was about to give him the company lecture on professional relationships, but he eased my mind by sharing his plans for any offspring from the union. Very proactive, that man, he's going places. I wish him the best, and twins, if possible. I do find his religious beliefs a bit silly, though, even for religion. As far as I can tell the man prays to a breakfast cereal. Oh well, Umbral is, after all, an equal opportunity employer!
Dr. Marcus was pleasant to talk to, and I could tell he enjoyed our conversation. He hardly mentioned leeches at all, tending to mutter it as a sort of full-stop between sentences, rather than screeching it, as is his wont. I feel the country air and lack of leeches has done him some good. If any leeches are available in trade, I will certainly make sure to procure some. His genius is exceptional, and with a proper subject I'm sure he is capable of surprising me.
As for my self, I am well. I am busy with work, I must find a way to intensify the effects of the murk, and harness it for the glory and gain of Umbral!
I continue to dig, the body must be a fit host for the mind, after all. Basement level four is nearing completion, it will one day hold the most extraordinary BOW we are able to produce.
