Demons as followers
« on: September 11, 2012, 04:06:46 pm »

It is possible to get demons as followers. Sometimes a human civ will take a demon prisoner. If you go and rescue it, then you have a very powerful follower. This has happened to me twice in the past.
If you decide to rescue a demon, be careful of its fire/webs/dust/whatever.
This is also a good strategy for taking out necro towers (if you avoid the fire, which i didn't).

I once had a demon mummy as a follower. It was basically invencible, with fire breath and made of pitchblende.

After a while, i got sick of him because he overshadowed me and stole all the kills, so i decided to kill the thing.

I descended to hell and started a fight. After a while he dodged into a glowing pit.

In a hole in the ground there lived a dwarf. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a dwarf fortress, and that means magma.

You killed a demon by going into hell and throwing it off a cliff? This game, man, this game.

That is one hell of a quote.

I wish I could find me a demon-mummy or a necromancer-elephant or something interesting. The best companion I've had was a spearman who was actually the wife of a Law-Giver. And that's not very interesting...

If you want to find one of these, the best thing to do is check Legends Mode. Demons are listed as monsters/demons/fiends, between the titans and night creatures.

I once found three imprisoned in villages very close to each other. Great fun.

I had a goblin man servent (slave) who followed me on adventures and killed 3 mega beast single handed with a slicing knife! His name was Ber, the funny thing was Ber used to be a shearer back in a goblin civ.

I thought that's what everybody did with all demons they meet. That's why whenever there's a demon on the subway they ride in their own car. ::)

It is said knowledge is like a foul-smelling herb. It must be cooked well and thoroughly with experience to make it palatable. A young scholar's knowledge is therefore not only worthless but disgusting. -- In Dwarf Fortress you have another paradigm. Gather as much of that smelly herb as you can and toss it at your enemy, fracturing his skull through the +capybara man leather cap+.

WE MUST MAKE HER INTERESTING!!!! TO THE ROLEPLAY MOBILE! NANANANANANANANA

EDIT: I kinda confused the genders there a bit for awhile, the wording made me herp-derp. Fix'd now though.

Unfortunately after finding out that the spearwoman mclawgiverhubby was in fact a spearWOMAN I can no longer attempt to set up a roleplay of it being Henpecked Hou from Jade Empire. Damn

this one time i found a temple, and it had a lava pool in it. I put the lava in my waterskin then I burned to death.

THREAD RE-RAIL MODE ACTIVATE! I've only found demons as deities and rulers, and every time I've found them i say "I must break you" and then proceed in getting my ass handed to me.

My first adventurer that accomplished anything had a 400 year old Demonic Chinchilla man join him. I found him in a castle all by himself. He expelled some kind of vapors. He had a dagger of some type, but usually nommed on badguy's eyelids and shook them around. He was badass.
