No! I think it's fine just the way it is, and to hell with all who dare say otherwise!

Last I checked in with him, he informed me that he was still following the thread despite not being online enough to actively participate, though that was quite some time ago as well.

I should mention that there isn't actually any hard limit for the amount of Chosen Ones that can participate in the trial at any one time, so there's no real need to worry about "slots" being being taken up by inactive players; if I ever feel that the vitality of the game is suffering due to a lack of activity from previously selected Chosen Ones, I'll just let in more people from the waitlist, and allow those less active players to come and go as they please. The only thing holding me back from allowing in more Chosen Ones at this time is the fear that it would slow the overall progression of the game down to an unacceptable level.
Alright that makes a good deal of sense.

I'm curious as to what would result if my character went dark mode (which considering how he just trolled Canada, he may already be in), planeswalked into a Chinese ICBM facility, and fired upon Russia.

...so tempted to do this...

I have to say, I find it highly entertaining that the expected leader of the proposed Unification alliance has thus far been responsible for more human deaths than all other Chosen Ones combined. And, because of his great power and mental instability, arguably poses the greatest threat to the human race at this point in the trial.
Likewise. Actually I think I said something like that before in the OOC thread and it's only becoming more true with time, haha.

You know what the best base for Jorn would be? A salt mine.
Maybe the Dead Sea? :P

Moderator is going to be so disappointed.
Why? Your not nuking Canada... Yet? Or just because you don't plan to help him any more?

This will be...interesting. Assuming Dark gets in.
I applaud him for trying to make things more exciting. He'll either die spectacularly or start off some serious sh*t. Regardless, it'll be fun to watch.

Staying up until the early hours of the morning is always a good idea. Everyone knows that all the really cool stuff life has to offer only goes on after midnight.

Except MechWarrior Online

But even then I can wipe half a team in a near-stock Centurion CN9-A because they're so bad

So out of curiosity, how might badassery levels influence the type of powers my future chosen one will have?

In general, they will probably most notably affect how easily The Entity can mutate other living organisms, and to what extent. As well as the overall power of its telekinetic abilities.

How would Badassery affect TUG & SUS, given that they're machines?

In pretty much the same manner it affects all other Chosen Ones:
Quote from: For those interested in: Badassery
It is this gift that will, for the most part, determine your overall potency for the duration of the trial. Its level rises with your glorious successes, and falls with your dismal failures. It can transform you into a mountain-splitting, army annihilating juggernaut, or a sorry fool, who may sooner be killed off by their own misfortune than by the hand of any opponent.

Mechanically, the level of your badassery will tie into a number of things. Most notably, it will increase/decrease your roll threshold depending on its level, allowing you to either wield greater power and accomplish more and more impressive feats with ease, or making you more prone to slip-ups and mishaps.

Regardless of their non-organic composition, with a higher level of Badassery they will become stronger, tougher, and generally more successful in whatever actions they choose to carry out. And with lower Badassery, just the opposite.

Sounds good. I was kind of trying to picture how badassery might tie into the whole "blood magic" thing the entity has going but I think it probably makes more sense for it to influence the mutations and TK abilities like you said.

Or maybe these are all just thinly veiled excuses for me to post in the thread. :P

And I got a level for writing a book. Huh.
It was a damn good book.

Oh damn, I completely spaced on that addition you had made to your character. My bad.

The Entity's powers of Manipulation can fairly easily be worked into the rising and falling of its Badassery level. I'll simply have the cost of using such powers relate directly to where The Entity sits on the Badassery Scale. Meaning that, at the highest levels, spells and whatnot that would normally leave your Chosen One either heavily drained or dead will be able to be cast effortlessly and without breaking its stride. And at the lowest levels, The Entity would have to gather up a sizable sacrifice in order to perform even the most basic of Manipulation-based feats. Sound good?

And I got a level for writing a book. Huh.

Not just any book. A book of dark rituals skillfully written down in your own blood. If that isn't enough to earn a warlock a small level up in Badassery, I don't know what is.
