They at least start emitting smoke later.

I'm keeping ravens in the game, because carrion birds survive WELL in the end. And crows are pets! :D

I've found that Artist as another suitable name for the Soldier. All these color-coded hydraulic fluids are pretty. Soon, the main cause of the end will be implemented: the infected.

Weapons I've got so far: Pipe, Fire Axe, Machete, Pole, Sharpened Pole, Sledgehammer, Carpenter Hammer, Kitchen Knife, Pocket Knife, Shovel, Revolver, Hunting Rifle, Airgun, Hunting Bow (just a faster speed bow, same for Hunting Crossbow). Soon to add: Nailgun, Bat, and 2X4.

Armor: Scrap, basic clothing.

Tools: Metal Can, replacement for Rock Pot.

Mid-post. I'm planning on 3 sentient races, and I've got two of them in.

Humans: No changes, might change natural lifespan.

Automatons: 6 color-coded castes: Soldier: teal hydrofluid, female, steel skin, bones, and muscle, titanium organs, natural swimming ability, and faster military skills learning speed.
                                                 Architect: bright red hydrofluid, female, titanium everything, 3 eyes, faster architecture/masonry/carpentry/metalsmithing learning speed.
                                                 Gatherer: bright green, female, titanium, 4 arms, faster gathering skill learning speed.
                                                 Artisan: bright blue, female, titanium, crafter skills.
                                                 Dragon: deep purple, soldier-type metals, firebreath, wings, and nobilty skills.
                                                 Welder: maroon, female, titanium, will need an interaction for making another automaton at a building or something, and medic skills.

Infected: Prettymuch L4D, but with my own take on variations.

You'll have to have the creature transform into another creature that has a boiling part that connects to another part using interactions so that the bodypart falls off, then use a further interaction to raise that bodypart and transform it into an automaton.

Ask narhiril, I've never actually used the method myself.

Transform the creature--using a boiling stone that imparts syndromes--into a creature with 3 parts: a grasp part, a part connecting that grasp part to the main part, and a main part. Make the connector part out of a material that always boils. Once the creature transforms, it will lose the grasp part, which can then be animated and transformed with an interaction.

Welder: maroon, female, titanium, will need an interaction for making another automaton at a building or something, and medic skills.
Since currently there is only two ways to 'create' creatures. Way 1 transforms the creature into the new one, which "kills" the old creature to make the new one. The other way is a rather complicated process where you transform the creature into a creature that instantly loses a body part, then have it reanimate that body part, and then transform the reanimated body part into whatever you wanted to get. It's a lot of jumping through hoops sadly.

If you want things that can be designated for "chopping" that will get you scrap metal after the job, then yes.

The only way that I can think of would be to replace the default vampires and werebeasts with your own ones. Then give the creature that you don't want infected a secretion that adds a special syndrome class to them and then put [IT_CANNOT_HAVE_SYNDROME_CLASS:XXXX] on your custom interactions.
