No, not like that.

BY_CATEGORY means that you would use BODY_UPPER. BY_TYPE means that you would use UPPERBODY. BY_TOKEN means that you would use UB.

The first argument in EXTRA_BUTCHER_OBJECT is BY_TYPE, BY_CATEGORY, or BY_TOKEN, nothing else.

The second argument depends on the first. For the example of the upper body, you'll use:

BY_CATEGORY:BODY_UPPER

BY_TYPE:UPPERBODY

BY_TOKEN:UB

EDIT: Your blood should be STATE_COLOR:LIQUID:CYAN.  Sorry about that.

Slayerhero, as Putnam said, replace your [STATE_COLOR:CYAN] with [STATE_COLOR:LIQUID:CYAN] or [STATE_COLOR:ALL:CYAN].

"STATE_COLOR" there asks for a STATE and COLOR, not just color. The state can be LIQUID, GAS or SOLID, it can also be ALL which means all of those. Basically you can make a material with different colors for a liquid, a gas and a solid state if you want.

So: First, my automatons are bleeding teal, at last, but not enough of it.
Second, I'm still confused as to how I'd make a specific part into something else, like making the cameras out of clear glass. Or brushes out of plastic.
Third, I'm having problems getting desciptions on my automatons.

Yes.

Let me tell you, though, that titanium isn't really any sort of supermetal. In DF terms, it's only slightly better than iron, though lighter. In reality, it's about as good as some low-grade steel.

How do I make it so that they don't have things like fat, tallow, soap, and leather? Do I just remove those from the b_detail_plan section where it asks for that template? Also, how do I make weapons not crafted at their asociated workshop, like making pipes, my replacement for maces, constructed only at the plumber's shop?

1. Yes. Make sure to make a new body detail plan for their materials and tissues entirely if you do so.
2. Don't give the civ the weapon, instead making a reaction for it to be built there. Note that your civ, well, won't have the weapon--your fort will be the only place in the world that makes or has them.

I've recently started playing around with various tokens in the raw files, and managed to get my female Giant Cave Spider to lay eggs in a nest box. The thing is though, they're not hatching. I've had three separate clusters, and not a one has hatched.

Is there something that I might be missing?

There is currently a minor problem in that the veteran demons fighting in the corpse factory have failed to die in the 2 year battle and have become legendary unkillable gods of war. I may have misjudged this possible outcome.
