I'm stuck between a fully fleshed out relationship and social interaction simulation system, or a fully modable material to material reaction system. Such as thermite and the like. Also terrain not being vincible only to miners and cave-ins.

Gunpowder. I don't care if it's not a feature, I want explosive gunpowder.

I'd like to see SOMETHING explode with some effect. Maybe changing booze explosions to actually cause tremendous amounts of damage through burns or something.

I very badly want to be able to retire a fortress without abandoning it. I want to build epic fortresses and then visit them in adventurer mode

You can download DFhack, change mode to Arena (while paused, unless you want all your dwarves to kill each other) assume control of a random dwarf, change mode to adventurer, then retire. The you can make another adventurer and visit your fortress

Quote from: DF wiki
Violation of Production Order - failing to produce items mandated by a noble.
Violation of Export Prohibition - selling items to a caravan which a noble forbade exporting.
Violation of Job Order - failing to complete guild jobs mandated by the mayor (currently does not happen).
Conspiracy to Slow Labor - unknown
Murder - killing a fellow dwarf or a tame animal. Alternatively, being caught sucking blood out of another dwarf.
Disorderly Conduct - attacking another dwarf while throwing a tantrum.
Building destruction - destroying a building during a tantrum.
Vandalism - toppling furniture or doors during a tantrum.
I want to be able to arrest dwarves for laziness. I DEMAND IT.

The ability to turn a single dwarf into a fortress sponsored adventurer.  This is one way to attack other places, I suppose.

Formations, synchronized marching hopefully with drummers and standard bearers, militia captains in the lead
Id be happy just to see them doing cool looking drills in the barracks, standing in line opposite each other when sparring or forming and advancing together

A public bathhouse/swimming pool

Pooping

Bards to sing happy songs for dwarfs(or dirges if the singer is sad passing it on that depression)

A courtroom where nobles assemble to pass judgement on the condemned i don't want any control on the sentences just think it would look sweet, also a hammering block for good public displays of justice

Fire arrows an torches to set things on fire

An occasional goblin elite force to make me panic, possibly so terrifying that they force me to parley and give up hostages or pay in loot

Pooping would make a fortress, SOOOOO hard to make, a working toilet would take a long time to make pipes for, and a simple fortress would take more than a day to get running.
Swimming seems like a good idea, but arrows are allready fucking overpowered, why make them more goreingly horrifing.
Also, Dwarves give no mercy, adventuer.

In the deep, there are beasts so fell and terrible, that only they know what they are, for no one has met them to tell the tale of it... they are Forgotten Beasts, born in the chaos from before the world's birth... They have waited, brooding in the dark places of the world... and now... by digging too deep. we have awakend them.

I have to say, eliminating exploits like melting and danger rooms should be far, far, far down the list of things to do.  If you don't like the exploits, don't do them.  If other people having access to exploits bothers you, that's your problem.

My most wanted feature is siegers making their way into "impenetrable" fortesses, by breaking walls or digging.  I'd like some warning if they are doing it, but just something to keep the pressure on during sieges.  As it stands now, I just don't build a drawbridge over my 3 tile entrance.  But i'd rather be able to man the walls, and shoot the invaders as them attempt to break in, then send my melee troops to meet them wherever they bust in.  Let me go all out on defense, instead of purposely making it harder for myself.  The wiki says "You will lose".  That's BS, it's so easy to set up some underground farms and hide forever.

Make me race to equip and train my army, because the goblins keep coming harder and stronger every season.  Make me pierce the caverns, because there's something worthwhile to mine down there.  Right now I make myself do those things, because the game provides no pressure to do so.
