Went to go message Spinal_Taper, he hasn't been on for two weeks though. :<

I'm probably just going to put William on stand-by. Guninanrunin hasn't responded to my PM's though...

Spinal's been on Skype occasionally, and GUNIN I had to put into storage in the Mall Fight due to inactivity.

Chapter 73: New Blood

"GET 'EM!"

Chase after the Vice Lord that got just a little bit farther away while whipping out a switchblade and shouting at the rest of my crew to kick their asses

Trent and his footsoldiers run after the Vice Lords, while Berk stays at his position. Blades are drawn.

(Trent Sprint: 5)
(Footsoldiers Sprint: 2)
(Vice Lord 1 Sprint: 3)
(Vice Lord 2 Sprint: 2)

The footsoldiers take on the second Vice Lord on the street, who has to stumbled after hitting a car. (5 vs. 6) The soldiers catch up, and the Vice Lord is only barely able to escape by sliding across the roof of another car, and resuming to run. (Vice Lord Agility: 2) The has to stop himself from running into a wall, allowing the soldiers to finally confront him properly. (1 vs. 4) The soldiers surround him, but he reacts quickly and manages to pull his gun back up in time. (3 vs. 1) He shoots one footsoldier in the hand, and as the soldiers are temporarily stunned, he takes the opportunity to run down an alley.

Meanwhile, Trent gives chase to the other Vice Lord sprinting down the pavement, and manages to tackle him from behind. (2+1 vs. 3) Both men go down, and Trent has to get up and recover, losing the opportunity for a proper attack. (2 vs. 6) The footsoldier gets up and tries beating Trent across the head with the heel of his pistol. Trent grabs his arm his open hand (6 vs. 1) and holds it in place as he jams his switchblade into the Vice Lord's throat. The Vice Lord makes a gurgling sound and drops to the ground. At this time, Trent hears a gunshot go off and sees the other Vice Lord running out

Hm. Specifically, he needs enough tracking devices for the group, plus some software to track them with, a couple wireless cameras, and a general hacking program. Stuff to help with heists and such.

Aaron puts in some keywords to help him navigate through the market. Various products come up:

Tracking Bug - $50
Tracking Bug Software - $100

Long-range Wireless Camera - $120

Basic Hacking Program - $200
Advanced Hacking Program - $500
B@CK_D00R - $1000

"Aw, flippin' hell"

Find the money before they walk away!

Thomas frantically searches for his money in order to secure the interest of the teens. (Search Roll: 3) He finds a spare 50-pound piece. "Look what I got here! Money!" The teens shrug. One asks, "Okay, you've got some money. What do you do exactly? Like in your crew, what do you all do all day?"

"Well, this is a two way street buddy... you give some, you get some. What have you got to offer us in terms of skills or opportunities?"

Yeah, ask that.

"I can perform complex math problems in my head, I've won various skiing tournaments and I'm certified in glassmaking. That sort of stuff. But I should ask you guys some questions, like what kind of business are we talking about here exactly? Cars? Insurance?"

Dave looks about the pub, phone to his ear. "Well, as long as there's someone around the pub, I don't see why not. Give you guys a chance to kick back and relax."

Check about the pub. Is anyone there? If so, head out to the game, if not, stay put.

Dave looks around in the pub to see a few footsoldiers lingering about. Deciding that it would be fine to take the day off, he heads downtown to the Licheville sports stadium.

The stadium is packed, bustling bodies shifting around or jumping up and down. It seems that the home team is doing quite poorly at the half-time mark.

go along with it for now seen what happens don't call anyone

Blake just shrugs.

"No one to call? That's fine. Due to your lack of legitimate funds found on your person or in your holdings, the English state has provided a lawyer for you." The guard leads Wulf into an enclosed room. A wiry haired man in a business suit greets him at a table with two chairs.

"Mr. Jessop? Greetings, I'm Hector Donovan. I will be representing you in court. While my job is to make sure that you get the best outcome, you must decide which route to pursue; the decision to plead either Guilty or Not Guilty..."

((Details sent via P.M.))

"I LOVE IT WHEN YOU FIGHT DIRTY!"
KISSY KISSY!

Mason goes for the kiss. He misses! (5 vs. 3) The lady stabs him in the stomach twice. Mason falls to the ground, is this it for him? Everything gets fuzzy...

"Sir? Are you awake?" Mason is greeted with the sight of a nurse. "Your treatment is finished. You are free to leave."

-----

Garret discusses a proposition with his potential client. The statesman seems interested. "You are quite the enticing enigma sir! Now, I believe I have my own offer to make, an offer simply so profound you can't refuse it." Before Garret can ask about the new offer, four burly men in jackets come up behind him...

Garret Kamesh has disappeared.

-----

William frantically types out a text as he waits for the bus to come.

To Everyone,

I've run into some personal issues that need to be solved on my own, in private. I'll be back as soon as I can, so everyone can just carry on with what they're doing. In the meantime, I've called some fresh blood I believe to be capable to help you guys out.

Later,
Will

The bus comes just as William sends the text out to all the members of the Syndicate. He boards the bus, his transportation to another far-off place.

William Gerais has left for a while.

-----

Two new faces enter the Pub, starkly different in appearance, but both entering for the same reason. The bartender looks up, "Hello gentlemen. Are you ready to start business? There are other like you out there already, and their numbers and power is growing. I assume they've kept you updated on what has happened so far, but I'll try to answer any questions you have. Welcome to the Syndicate, first drink is on my tab."

Thomas Freedom has joined the Syndicate.
Joe M. Madena has joined the Syndicate.

After cleaning up my other games and dealing with RL, I've finally managed to get back here. Sorry for the wait guys, I've tried to type this turn up as quickly as possible, so excuse me if this turn isn't up to the standard of normal turns in terms of details and such as it is well past mid-night as I am finish this.

On the bright side, two new Kings have emerged. May there time be devoid of getting electrocuted or kidnapped.

Nifty. Purchase the B@CK DOOR Software with my own money, and buy 8 tracking bugs, the software for them, and one wireless camera, billing it to the syndicate. If that's possible. So pay 1000$ of my own money and 620$ of the Syndicate's. After that, leave and head back to the pub.

Chapter 74: Court Drama

Aaron goes ahead and buys a lot of stuff, using a lot of monetary resource.

(-$1000)
(-$620 Syndicate Funds)

A message pops up telling him that the supplies should be at the pub in a reasonable amount of time. Finishing up the transaction, Aaron heads out of the cafe, and back to the Pub.

On the way back, a man in a purple jacket approaches him from an alley. "Hey, you looking for something good?" He opens his jacket to reveal numerous little packages taped to its interior. "I've got whatever you want man, real nice stuff." It's clear that he's a Vice Lord, but he doesn't seem to realize that Aaron is part of the rival Syndicate.

" I have a question, I saw on the web that a drug place got hit and somebody got caught, whats going on with that, is he out yet?"

Bring up a series of job seekers websites on my tablet, enter a brief description stating the following and post the job. Check frequently for applicants. Upload to every single possible job site that services this city or anything within 50 miles.

Create 3 folders on the tablet, one for those with criminal records, one for those with valuable skill sets and one for those who I reject.

Joe Michael's first order of business is to find willing labor in the nearby vicinity.
[Computer Science: 1]
-WEBPAGE CAN NOT BE FOUND-
Well, looks the pub is having Internet issues. He's still able to create the folders and system in the meantime.

"Here is not a good place to talk. Head to this pub, say I sent you. They will fill you in. I shall be there later to check up on how you are settling in."

Give location of pub to newbie. Take Fyfe with me on a tour of the docks and tenement to check on production and distribution before heading back to the pub.

Ryan and Fyfe leave the pub to head down to the docks. After a brief cab ride, (-$4) the two of them end up on the Dock property. Unfortunately, a couple of idle cops are hanging about, and yellow tape stretches around the perimeter. Whatever happened, it was a big deal. As the scene is too hot to approach for now, the two of them walk back to the pub. Upon entering, they find Joe cursing as he attempts to use the Internet.

"Thanks Doc... Do people usually have really weird dreams while they are under?"
Talk to the Doc, inquire into possible side effects, see if I can get some pain killers, go home.

Mason inquires about his dreams. The doctor responds, "It happens, and hey, it makes the time pass faster, doesn't it?" Mason also inquires about pain killers. "Sure, I can give you some."
(+Bottle of Painkillers)

Mason leaves the hospital and goes back to the pub. There he joins Ryan and Fyfe, and also encounters the two new Kings.

Check out the basement where the syndicate hangs out. Grab a pistol.

Thomas goes down to the basement. It's sleek and has remnants of the days when it was a secret distribution center. Various goods are scattered about on marble tables. At one table, weapons strewn about, Thomas picks up a Pistol. (+Pistol) He looks at the black weapon; it fills him with a newfound sense of destructive capability he never had before. He pockets the gun.

Chase down and finish off last Vice Lord before he can get away

Trent and his crew run after the remaining Vice Lord.
[Trent Sprint: 3]
[Footsoldiers Sprint: 4]
[Vice Lord Sprint: 1]

The Vice Lord runs into an alleyway, and soon finds himself cornered. The footsoldiers are the first to reach him. (4 vs. 3) The Vice Lord weaves his way out of the corner, suffering no stab wounds, though the soldiers do kick him around a bit. Just as he manages to break off, Trent finds his way at him. (4 vs. 1) Trent stabs the Vice Lord right in the ribs. Retracting his knife, the Lord falls down in shock, one hand clutching his wound. He attempts firing his gun at his pursuers in the meantime. (5 vs. 2) There's a flash, and Trent suddenly sees one of his footsoldiers fall over, clutching his stomach. Trent decides to put an end to this, (3 vs. 2) and stabs at the Vice Lord, but the Lord is quick enough to dodge and only receive a flesh wound across the arm. The uninjured footsoldier moves to avenge his partner, (6+1 vs. 2) and cuts the Vice Lord across the throat. The Vice Lord drops his gun, making a gurgling sound as he crumbles.

That's two Vice Lord assailants killed, but a footsoldier has been gravely wounded and Berk is still outside the alley with an injured ankle. In addition, the gunshots are likely to have attracted attention. Trent can't ever catch a break, can he?'

Meet up with the footsoldiers, calling them if needed. Enjoy the game. Meanwhile, consider options to make money for the syndicate. Do we have drugs on the street yet? How about expanding our protection racket?

Dave meets his footsoldiers at the stadium, as they greet him warmly and shove a drink into his hand. The game is well on his way. At this time, Dave ponders future options for the Syndicate. He's aware that Ryan is trying to set up some sort of drug distribution. As for the protection racket, it has definite room for expansion, the only issue being that it seems the Vice Lords are moving in, and have already attacked the place once. It will take either smart diplomacy or dismantling of Vice Lord influence in order to expand.

The game finally ends in a close 4-3, though the crowd doesn't seemed please. At first it is just yelling, but then Dave sees fights breaking out. Police rush into the scene. Uh oh.

Explain what we do.

[Persuasion: 4]

"We're a group together out to get rich and powerful, to take our lives back, and we don't care who gets in our way. The Syndicate is the future."

"Okay. Can we check out your crib?"

-----------

After some speak, Blake and his attorney proceed into a nearby courtroom. Inside, it is already filled. To the side, Blake spots Imari and Q both sitting at chairs, restrained in hand-cuffs.

The City of Licheville VS. Blake Jessop

Prosecuting Attorney: Clement O'Harris (Law Skill: 4)
Defense Attorney: Hector Donovan (Law Skill: 3)
Judge: Alex Oglethorpe

The judge bangs his gavel. "Order! The courtroom is now in session. Sir Donovan, how does your client plead?"

Hector rises from his seat. "Not guilty! My client is the rightful owner of the establishment and was coerced by the previous defendants present today!" The audience gasps, what a twist! Imari glares at Blake hatefully, while Q stares at him with a cold, unmoving gaze.

The judge nods. "Sir O'Harris, you make take the stand." Donovan sits down, as Clement stands up, walking to the designated spot.  He clears his throat, (Law: 1) "...I. Er. Accuse Blake Jessop. Of....what were the charges again?"

Hector leaps up, "Objection! The prosecution sucks!" (Hector vs. O'Harris: 4 vs. 3+1) O'Harris responds, "Woah, give me a chance to get my bearings straight!" The judge shakes his head, "Objection overruled."

O'Harris continues, "Now then..." (Law: 5+1) "I have evidence which shows that Blake Jessop was indeed a consenting and even enthusiastic part of operations! Exhibit A." The prosecutor pulls out a recorder. "This was present on one of the undercover policemen slain during the raid." The full conversation between Blake and the cop is played out, including Blake very clearly stating, "What does my race matter? I am the owner of this warehouse and also do a lot Imari does I just lack the contracts, but no matter the race, you do not want to cross any of us." The jury and audience begin to murmur. Hector leaps up, (Law: 3+1) "My client only said that in order to protect himself from being harmed by his coercers!" O'Harris points a finger at the defense, "Objection! The defense attorney is a dirty cunt!" (6+1 vs. 1+1) Oglethorpe nods, "Objection sustained. Shut up Donovan." Donovan sits down, as he gets jeer and boos from the entire courtroom. O'Harris goes into a speech, (Law: 6+1) concerning the evils of Blake Jessop and his companions. His histrionics drive everyone in the room to near tears as he finishes.

Oglethorpe wipes a lone tear from his eye, "The prosecution may rest. Sir Donovan, you may take the stand. Good luck." Hector takes the stand, and goes for some last-ditch maneuvers. (Law: 2) "My client is mentally ill! He has no ability to control himself, therefor, he can not be charged on criminal grounds!" O'Harris roars, "OBJECTION! The defendant has no record or evidence of mental illness! (2+1 vs. 6+1) "Objection sustained." Oglethorpe shakes his head, "Now Donovan, do you have anything worthwhile to say." The defense attorney stays silent for a few moments, (Law: 2+1) "Well, there's no evidence for the full range of actions assumed by my client. Please take that into consideration. The defense rests."

As Blake reflects on what the hell just happened, the jury is led into another room. In a few minutes, they come back. One of them stands, "Sir Oglethorpe, we have reviewed the charges..."
