Drinking rum and coke.  Stopped by and picked up a new bottle of Captain Morgan Private Stock and some coke bottles.  Plan on drinking the first 2 or 3 pretty quick (for me, I'm not much of a drinker usually).  Used a RNG to pick a dwarf to be me, dwarf #62 in DT.  A happy hunter/marksdwarf.  Could be worse.  I've made a list of things Vyznev said needed to be done.  I know nothing about this fort other than those (deliberately, will be more fun, or !fun!).  Game will be paused and unseen until I'm ready to go.  Will add screenshots after I sober back up, but I intend to take quite a few in case I ramble incoherently.

6:20.  1st glass done.  I needed this, its been a long week.
6:23.  This 2nd glass might be too strong.'  Heh, the 2 pissed off dwarves in DT are CloverMagic and Scruffy X. Why do we have 10 stonecrafters and they all suck at it?
6:30  Yup too strong.  More coke.  Better.   3 armorsmiths.  2 suck, no more.
6:46  2nd drink down.  need more ice.  3rd drink poured leaves me with about half the bottle left.  can function properly if i conecntrate.  a good sign.
6:51  10 brewers, 9 suck.  stop that.  scruffy you mine too, stop being sad.  goddamn, half the fort is drinking or on break.  drunk bastards.

So, "decything" your text seems to suggest that whoever goes next better watch out for goblin ambushes considering how many children were abducted in the previous year.  Also, the vampire is still loose.

Actually, I could've told you that before you started, since I'd just played a couple of years further sober to see how things would turn out.  But that would've been cheating.   BTW, it turns out that whoever built that huge apartment complex made it pretty easy to detect vampires, since as long as there's an excess of bedrooms, they're the only ones who don't bother claiming any.  Or, at least, it was pretty easy to find them that way when I was playing sober...

If the current settlement is dead or doomed, reclaim is always an option.  We did it once, we can do it again.  At least unless you really did open the clown car or something...

For a recap of my turn:

Lots of dwarves died, more than I thought since we had quite a few babies born during my turn.  Id like to think most of the deaths werent my fault though.  The majority died to vampires, the hellhole, or were already on the verge of death when I started.

All I really accomplished was setting up the booze industry to give us a steady surplus and build a whole bunch of walls.  Pretty dwarven philosophy now that I think about it.  I walled off a bunch of "doors holding back lakes".  There may be more, you might want to check.

Kidnappings should decrease now that I have reclaimed everything on the surface outside the fort.  I put the war dogs near the bridge into the fort instead of by the trading post, so nothing should get in unseen.

Things for the next overseer to do:

1)  Looks like the miners wouldnt mine because 2 of them died.  Oops.  There is one left and plenty of picks.  Assign some useless guys to mine and turn off hauling for them.
2)  A road out of the fortress looks like a good idea.  Trees are threatening to cut off depot access.  I'd go south out of the gate, but its your call.
3)  An order of 60-90 wood bins or so would help.
4)  We have 2 kinda doctors.  Neither of them have diagnosing on.  Id turn on all the doctor skills for them both and turn off hauling.  There are a couple dwarves that need attention.
5)  Our good armorsmith died too.  Really bad luck on having the skilled dwarves die.  We need armor made (plenty of iron bars around).  There is galena too, so making silver warhammers for selling and weaponsmith xp would be good.  Not a lot of finished tradegoods in the fort.  I think we have all we need for metalcrafting, but I dunno.
6)  At least 1 more vampire floating around.  The vampire I killed was our best brewer, bummer.
7)  I got no migrants at all my turn.  The liaison left pissed off right at the start of the turn, so dunno what to tell you there.
8 )  I think there are still some items to recall underground.  A mass reclaim should do the trick.
9)  Turn off brewing for rope reed and pig tails.  We have plenty of other booze and could stockpile them if we ever need to make clothes.

Screwed as in "this place is a mess and I'm too drunk to use a keyboard". Definitely going to start sober and slowly get hammered next time, judging from my comments I spent the entire time trying to download the fort instead of actually playing it.
