Actually, nevermind, got the wrong info.

Change in question.

As a student, will they check my income and tax me for suddenly getting thousands of dollars, or my dependents (parents)?

I'm trying to figure out if I, a student, get any tax cuts from money being sent to me from overseas. What is the normal tax rate, how can you lower this tax? Can it be lowered?

Not looking for links unless they are really specific and not contracts.
Well, you haven't mention the country you're in, what country the money's coming from, and how much money we're talking about. Those are all pretty important to being able to give you an answer (You don't need to be specific with the money if you don't want, but a ballpark figure would do nicely).
