Best Embark I've seen yet.

I just have to share this, in a 2x6 embark, I've got:
Volcano
12 z-level waterfall, two streams meeting in a narrow gorge (so its not an FPS-killer)
Flux (lots and lots of marble)
Deep Soil, Fire Clay (and other clay).
Seemingly *every* ore, including multiple types of iron ore, cassiterite, various coal ores, and plenty of gold/silver.
Heavily forested, as well, lots of flat open space between the canyon and volcano for whatever endeavors I decide to undertake.
3 magma pools (including the volcano)

About the only negatives:  Haven't found any obsidian apart from that lining the volcano (not a major poblem, given the abundance of magma and water), and I don't think I've got any sand.

Lest anyone think I've got it too easy, I made this world incredibly savage and with *lots* of mega beasts and titans, so, I'm in for some fun times ahead.  But this is definitely one fort that will actually keep my interest for quite some time.

Is the embark on savage land itself? I can foresee some very good megaprojects coming from this site.

One of the dwarfs walked in front of Thor to get a better view of the prye, and Thor kicked him irritably into the middle of the flames, which made Thor feel slightly better and made all the dwarfs feel much worse.

The embark is savage itself; I didn't pay attention to whether or not it was; I just made sure 2/3s of the world map was, and then based my embarks based on looking for volcanoes near rivers.  But I've got highwood and frequent giant-creatures and frequent creature-men/women, so I'm 99% its savage (is there a technical way to tell from within the fortress?)

Real quick: I'm trying to follow the wiki's guide on exporting a seed from fortress mode, I haven't generated any 'world_gen_param' file.  I did generate a 'hotcastle_param_region6' file; is that what I should be looking for?

No, you should be looking for region#_world_gen_param.txt

All I can see is region6_world_history and region6_world_sites_and_pops...

Then it's the right file, it just got renamed somehow. Elsewise try again.

If you export the local image in Fortress mode, then the parameters are named after the fort. If you do it in Legends mode, then it just goes by world number.

Oh, by the way, there was another really cool embark site in that world; a volcano by a lake.  The cool part is that the mouth of the volcano is below the waterline, with nothing preventing the water from cascading in.  So, the moment you unpause in fortress mode, instant obsidian cap.1
