So, who else has finished the Adventure mode?

No, found the door but I've been too chickenshit to go in busy preparing to go in.

I went inside, not really what I was expecting, somewhat of a small disapointment really.
However I died in there. :p

The first few are picked form a random pool, whereas the final two are both fixed hellholes of pain and suffering.

I think I would've liked adventure mode better if it was more about bringing proper equipment from the main game to survive a long journey, rather than what it is now.

Something of a thread resurrection, but I figure it's better than starting another one with all the header info.

So, thanks to a recent (and as of this exact moment, still ongoing, though not for long) Steam sale, I am now in possession of this game.

Got about... six or seven characters killed at the moment. Longest survival time was to day 11. Beehives are surprisingly effective at fending off hounds. :P

Fun little game. Combines best things of roguelikes and survival games, even without mods - which I aim to browse through at some point. The lack of any sort of tutorial barring minimal ingame hints is at times confusing (what sort of "space" does Abigail need? A graveyard/grave was my guess, but Wendy died to a lurking tentacle before I could find one.), but at the same time preserves the game's replayability.

No spoilers, please. ^_^

With games like these the wiki is often the tutorial.

It does sort of defeat the point of "no hand-holding". :P

But it would have prevented Wendy's latest YASD by boomerang.
Also, finally found out how to trigger Abigail. That's quite interesting. And immensely useful.

the game gets updates, new features, bits and pieces at least twice a week so the game experience now is quite a bit different to what it was 6 months ago

Find beefalo ASAP and relocate a short distance from them.  Those guys are your best buddies.

What's so great about beefalo, anyway? I mean, besides the obvious food source, but you can pretty much hunt anything for food. Even spiders, though they're a far better source of healing salve. And unlike beefalo, spiders are a renewable resource, and aren't all that hard to kill.

Killing a single Beefalo will keep you fed for like two days at least, but more importantly, poop for farms. Seeds are easy to find and farms require no upkeep.

Beefalo has mating seasons... they are renewable. You can also lead enemies to run around them; eventually the enemies will agitate them, and they hit fast and hard.

Uhhh... Guys... Quick question- If I find a Treeguard, and lead it far away from my base, will it still chase me even if I'm like a mile away?

It might, but you can set it on fire (well just set a forest on fire and run it through) and run till it drops.

They don't stop until pacified or dead.
