I wanted to make vertical bars and a door...

But the bars don't count as a wall for it to be adjacent to. Can anyone tell me if there's an alternative door for these jail bars I was setting up?

Build a wall adjacent to the tile you want to place the door, build the door then deconstruct the wall. It's how I get 3x1 door entrances or 10x10 rooms made out of nothing but doors.

Did I mention doors?
