"The villagers all run in fear, because they know the cloud is not a cloud! Then they realize it is just a cloud, probably.
The blacksmith returns to smithing some farming tools, as the soldier waits impatiently to see something moving he can kill. The clothier, a young man with little to do, goes into the mines to hit on the miner, a lady with toughened beauty in his eyes. The hunter tries to find a companion in the woods, or at least some food."
The villagers look up at the cloud. It looks fluffy, so they decide to not panic.
The smithy decides to work on some new farming tools using some stockpiled ore. They turn out pretty well, with bismuth bronze and regular wood handles. She makes a hoe, a pitchfork, a shovel, and a trowel.
You can now create a small farm!
The soldier patrols around the town. He dosen't even spot a single badger. He remembers to ask the Hunter to take him on a trip eventually, lest he go insane of boredom.
The miner hits a vein of tetrahedrite when the Clothier shows up. He nervously watches for a moment, then asks:
"Is your clothing holding up well? I didn't really think to make anything extra-durable, so..."
The miner dropped the pick and wiped sweat from her brow.
"Surprisingly well. I prefer a lighter cloth anyway, dosen't trap heat."
"That's good. I'll keep that in mind for next season. I guess I'll talk to you later."
"Sure. Thanks for checking up on things."
The miner went back to mining, going a little faster at it.
The hunter goes out into the heavier forests. He kills a single badger, and wistfully wanders. He was almost out of bolts, and about to head back, when he heard something behind him. His instinct was faster than the rustling, and he turned to face...
A kitsune. Before the hunter had come to settle the new village in right, he had lived in a rural area known for it's cooking (which he enjoyed very much.) The Kitsune had been a friendly race, ready to trade at any time and more than willing to help a valued partner.
This kitsune was female, made obvious by not only her humanoid features but the ring present on her ear: All females had one, nobility had two, and female rulers got three. She had one gold ring in her ear. Her fox ears and tails were silvery with white tips, and she had a silver spear slung across her back.
"Ah? A human! Where'd you come from?"
"Settlin' in down from here a bit. Your people close by?"
"Nah, I'm on the run. I managed to make a noble family angry at me, and... yeah. If you knew what race I was, you also know about our nobles."
"It's the same with every race. Know anything about the surrounding area?"
"Not really. There was a cave or something a while back, but that's a ways out. Anyway, I hate to ask, but do you have room in your village?"
"Depends, we need working hands."
"I'm good with a spear, and I can make odd-and-end things out of bone. I even have my own spear."
"All right, I guess that works out. We don't have a leader yet or anything, so I don't see whats wrong with bringing you back with me."
"My name is Lunira, by the way. What's yours?"
"Most folks call me Dan. Dan's me whole name, you know. Parents never had a last'n."
