But we should make traps and more weapons even if there just sharp stones on the end of sticks. Or just point sticks. Traps can be pit traps with point bits of wood daubed in crap to make the goblins get the pint.

Dude. We have iron. And the ability to forge it. We're not that simple.

I say we build a small prison of sorts to keep an eye on the new arrivals. The demon gave him up way to easily. Something might be up. We keep them in there until the shrinks evaluate them for a few more turns and make sure that no demonic trickery is afoot. Or am I just being paranoid?

Also I agree with the trap idea to a point [pun]. Let's keep with iron traps for now.

Furthermore I would like to suggest that any further [small] goblin raids be treated by the militia as a "recruitment" chance. If possible capture goblins [or other small threats] for use in later plans. Perhaps slaves [I'd prefer not] or a source of new soldiers [we breed them and train the children from birth as guards]. Feel free to contradict or give other thoughts.

So death to the goblin children who don't follow the rules or are we talking about something else? While I'm here I have another idea [I have many] Should we try capturing [theme?] wild-life to domesticate?

point of the wood or stone is we can spam it and won't use work requiring iron up in a static may never go off item. We have no mention of bars free for use this turn. We should follow the SMTD rules of trapping for full effect, Strangle, Dangle, Mangle, Tangle. We can trap them, we can crush them, net them or spear them. Also agree on being wary of the new guy, maybe he is collaborator or possessed.
Goblins I see as a resource, what ever we trap and sell or farm them.

I'll let you sort that out, but chances are, goblins won't make for much more than cannon fodder- cage them up and release them at the enemy- if they run at them we aren't coming back for you, so get through the guys coming at us and you won't ever see us again, unless you do things smart.

Marie was nearly asleep once Harold (her husband) entered her room.
She blinked a few times.
"Oh gods, Harold? You're alive!"

James and the others left the two alone to talk in peace.
"I don't like it, James. That demon was a DEMON. Why hand him over like that?" Lunira had a point.
"He sounded like he had orders from above. Something tells me this isn't a simple demon outbreak, that there's something new going on."
"I hope you're wrong. I feel like I could kill it, but it wasn't showing it's power in full..."

Lunira sighed.

Meanwhile, Ashley mines yet another section of land, producing 100 total blocks of Galena. This is immediately smelted by Rosa, producing 75 lead bars and 50 silver bars. They both get lunch and take a nap, having produced much in the way of progress.
Thomas begins hunting as usual, but sees nothing out of the ordinary. He bags a few rabbits, and has them cured.

Grant and Lunira decide to work on a system of defense, after discussing recent events. They make about 50 wooden spikes, no good as spears but maybe useful in traps.

"We should dig a pit and put these on the outside so nothin' can get across." Grant stated his idea.
"Not a lot of defense though, some could still slip in. Maybe if we built up a wall and had pit traps?"
"Understandable, but maybe we could launch these at the enemy? Something to carry it, launch it, then, well, that's it."
"That would be great, but it's linear. Walls seem to be the first item, and we can put these spikes on them so that climbers have a hard time."

"Nah, we should save them for some traps like you said. I'll see if Coleman can come up with a spike launcher design, I heard him mumbling about minecarts the other day. If we could power them, we could launch those big ol' bolts."

"Good idea. I'll sketch out the ideas, ok?"

Lunira wrote in her book:

Drawings of the walls, traps, and minecart shotgun.
Fears about Marie's husband.
Designs for a jail layout. It was a fairly large complex, but no space was wasted and there was a killchamber if it was needed- mechanisms would be required but the rest was easy. 500 stone blocks, 20 ropes or chains, a sherrif/jailer office, and the killroom lever/spike setup was a lot to make, but it could be considered.

I'll update the list next go around since this was only additions- the food balanced out, so just pretend the 2 rabbits caught were also eaten.

Let Coleman design his crazy idea before going back to do his part on the aquaduct thingy and the walls. Also have anyone not busy with something else work on those. At some point, we should turn spare sticks and lead into big heavy balista-bolts or something, that's about all it's good for unless someone introduces us to gunpowder. The spikes can be used as emergency weapons until Coleman's ideas are implemented.

I concur with Wyrm on this one. However I would like to point out that we wouldn't be using the captured goblin's but their Children who we will brainwash teach to love the village above all else.

That could potentially work. You'd need room, but it could work. I won't sabotage it intentionally for anything else but "plot" so go for it.

That's part of what the prison is for. Keep the parents AWAY from the Meatshields until we can make a Barracks of sort. What is the Goblin reproduction cycle? How long does it take for them to become of age? How many children do they have?

We don't have a wall... To my knowledge. I read through but didn't see mention of one.

Also, leather armor. Lead should be put in some container on the walls (when we get them) so that we can chuck it off at invaders. Also, wall. Make. Mach die Wand!
