I can't tell the difference between "pen" and "pin" or "pillow" and "pellow" in my accent.

It makes me strangely happy to know we will never meet. I would hate to go to jail for slapping somebody I like.

Dude. You'd hit the ground before you even got close to slapping MZ.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

That was MSH, not MZ.  Yes, similar avatars lead to confusion.

Bahahaha, that's true. But I'd never assault MZ; he's a Michiganite and certainly pronounces all of those correctly. Except maybe "pillow" has an accentuated "-oh" at the end, which I can abide by.

Also, he facepunches.

Accent guessing time!

As far as accents go, mine likes to drop t's. Cotton is pronounced "cah-uhn" by me; the t is replaced with a glottal stop.

English?

Milk is not pronounced "melk." Pen is not pronounced "pin." Pillow is not pronounced "pellow."

Either Irish or New Zealand?

I've got another word, too. During our DayZ adventures, one of my friends pronounced Makarov as "Marakov". We corrected him every time he did it, but he never got it right.

English?
Midwest US, and the glottal stop thing might be unique-ish to Utah and Idaho.

Er, no, that's pretty common in damn near all American English, as far as I know.

Or close to it, anyway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-glottalization

I am a Northerner living in Chicago. I used to get the "You must be Canadian" line all the time because of my accent. In my defense, however, nothing is ever mispronounced; stress is just different.

I intentionally mispronounce words all the time, to the point that they could be mistaken for different words entirely. If I keep it up, I should have my own language developed by next year.

Hrm, very well. I was told by two separate teachers in high school that it was a local thing, but if it ain't, it ain't.
