Politely remind Lilith that I was never an engineer, then agree with Lilith's plan. She should know what she's talking about.

You remind Lilith you aren't an engineer. Something along the lines of, "How the fuck should I know!?"

She gives you a resigned look, and climbs up to the A7. Nearly ten minutes later, you hear a buzzing noise, and the room beyond the airlock is lit. And you notice two shapes frantically scurrying away.

They weren't marines. Crewmen with handguns. It confuses you, and as Lilith jumps back down, you can only wonder why the Marines would offer to sacrifice crewmen against a force such as theirs.

What do you do next?

Try to figure out if there's anyone else around, then proceed with caution into the next room--Reg in front, then me, then Gordon, then Lilith.

You peer into the window again. It truly seems empty, and it is infact, the crew quarters. Bunks line the walls, dressers in between.

Erika opens the door with her blowtorch, and then Reg kicks it open, chuckling as he holds his shotgun at the ready.

You proceed into the room carefully, single file and cautiously watching every corner. The crew quarters contains two restrooms, one male, one female, bunks and dressers as you have already seen, and a rack along one of the walls. It probably contained personal defense weapons, in event of an attack.

That made it likely the entire crew was armed, well, what was left of them. Your hopes rely in heavier firepower, and good armor.

There was another airlock on the other side of the room, and a normal door to the right, probably leading to an engineering quarters and a life support room.

As they only had handguns, where as we have assault rifles and exoskeletons, we should offer them the chance to surrender first. We outmatch them insanely.

Thus speak the following to the room: "I know you're in here. My platoon does too. And what do you expect to do against a team of hardened storm troopers? Give up your weapons, and the rest of the ship, and you'll be just fine. If you don't well, I'm the one with bigass gun and the exosuit..."

(No harm in upping the truth a little :P )

Fall back into the initial entry point, secure yourselves to whatever presents itself as solid, and threaten to vent the atmosphere.
The crew is far more likely to surrender if they know we're capable of this. If the threat fails, we'll at least know that they have a contingency for this situation.

This. After all, how certain are we that there aren't other pressurized places, say, just beyond the airlock?

We shouldn't take any chances with so many possible hiding places.

We just have to kill them, as long as we do that, nothing else matters and we get our pay check, then we can safely check the hold for interesting loot and be on our way.

Fun fact, airlocks are airtight.

We're threatening the crew members in the crew quarters, which is the room we're currently in. Not the people behind the second air lock.

You shout the threat into the door, doubting that they could have made it through the Bridge airlock so quickly.

You hear a shuffling, and a muffled voice reply, "F-Fine... just.. just don't hurt us.."

"Come out, hands up." You say, holding your weapon at the ready. Reg watching the airlock, and Gordon ready to restrain them while Lilith provides additional security.

The door opens slowly, and the two crewmen step out, their hands in the air. Gordon steps forward with a few ties, and ties their hands in front of them, to which they comply without complaint, despite the fearful looks they give your crew.

It's like they were TRAINED to be taken prisoner. the Sol Republic is odd.

You have Gordon sit them down in a corner, and tell Lilith to clear the room that is newly opened.

She comes out, confirming your suspicions. "Just a Life Support and Engineering room. Nothing really special."

Sun Tzu once said that a victory is ten times as absolute if it is won without a single death. We'll probably be offered extra for the captives, and if we're not, we could negotiate it. If still not, we could either release them or other them a place in our company. We are mercs after all, we don't care how the war turns out, so long as we get payed.

He said something like that, anyway

Edit: Ask the crew about the rest of the ship. Are they the only ones alive? How many were there?

"The.. the rest of the crew? They, they are likely on the bridge...

The marines told us to grab weapons and ambush you guys in the dark, that we were expendable.." The younger crewman stammered.

You look down at the crewman, surprised. Reg seems to be angered by this. "They are here to protect, not to survive."

The crewmen refused to talk any further, and you turn towards the airlock. Your last challenge lies behind there, and if what you take from these new prisoners to be true, the crew might not want to fight.

However, killing the clearly corrupt marines will be a problem, if you wish to save the lives of the crew inside.

What is your next move?

Reassure the crewmen that we'll do our best to keep them safe and help their friends, then have Gordon get in the A7, close the bottom hatch to maintain atrium pressure, then exit through the side door and move to the hole in the exterior of the cockpit and prepare a flash grenade (if we have one) or some other similar non-lethal piece of equipment, waiting for our word to toss it. Meanwhile Lillith, Reg and I check out the airlock to the cockpit and determine how best to force entry.

Here's an idea, I want opinions on it first though. We could let the crew have their weapons back, on the promise that they'll assist us against the marines, as they are obviously corrupt asshats who were willing to throw their lives away, to help us save their friends from said marines.
