A better memorial thread.
« on: September 03, 2012, 11:48:37 am »

Because the idea was pretty valid, just put forward by a really passive-aggressive ban-ee.
Which I am not. Well, the banned part anyway.

So here's a thread for all the people you miss, like a big memorial stone carved from bytes. This includes people who phased out, people who quit hard, people who got banned, or those who are now limited to one obscure thread or sub-board. This doesn't include taking up arms for those banned, or reminiscing about old, dead boards, which should stay buried (one in particular).

Also if you feel like posting their final words- make sure it won't offend anyone.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

I kinda miss Dsarker. He was rather depressed and could've used a lot more hugs, except he didn't seem all that willing to accept them :(

Nice guy though.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I miss Retro. I really am unsure of the situation that got him banned, but I miss his forum games. They were great.

As stated previously, I will always miss neruz, simply because
a) it was fun arguing with him.
b) his avatar changes Freaked Me Out.
c) I wasn't present in the threads which caused him to get banned, so I never saw his dark side.

I miss NotLeafsnail.  He was really funny and attractive, but all his posts mysteriously went missing after he created that hilarious thread about black people :(.

Neruz is the only banned user I miss.  He's also the only one I can still talk to occasionally though so it balances out.

Vector.
Max White.
Retro.
GlyphGryph. (Though rumors abound hearkening to his return)
Neruz.

Neruz' D&D game was my first real adventure in D&D apart from a few friends and I attempting to figure out the rules for an hour or two before that. It was fantastic. I still have the Gametable tokens from it, actually. He got banned right as we encountered a flying mountain full of (literally) trillions of extraplanar bug people, and we were fleeing on a flying ship. There was a psion named Boris that looked like a long-haired Newt Gingrich. Best cliffhanger ever, and then it tumbled right over.

What did happen to vector? Also, Necro910 had some good ideas (at least in Dwarf Mode Discussion), until he started spamming magma.

Retro, Capntastic Captain Mayday(?), and the rest of the casualties of the big thing that went down over the flooding of GD with contentless threads.  Torak, Fishersalwaysdie, Dasleah, too mean to live with, too cool to live without.  Vester, WorkerDrone, not banned but I still miss them.  Neruz, he was cool.

In the hall of shame:  IoricKittencuddler, wanked so hard about PC Master Race it derailed threads.  Yanlin, nothing came out of his mouth that didn't have to do with fundies.  Dreadfang, who just...  Man, Dreadfang...  Okenido, helped spawn the yuri bullshit.

Speaking of Okenido, who remembers that really weird period where everyone on the entire forum turned out to secretly be a girl?  Good times.

Not an edit:  Vector left for parts unknown.

You're thinking of Captain Mayday, the guy who is neither capntastic nor the mayday tileset maker.
