The newest and by far favorite moment so far: rabbits turn into killing machines at the type of a single word.
I would love to see that.

It's quite easy: go into RAW>OBJECTS>CREATURE_DOMESTIC and look for rabbits on the list, type [TRAINABLE] somewhere in their entry and then gen a new world. The rabbits should be war/hunting trainable from now on.

There is no need to gen a new world for creature raw edits, just edit the save folder raws (data - save - raw - objects - creature text file), add [TRAINABLE], save and load your game with war bunnehs.

Urist McVealChops, Dwarven Child, has been found, completely drained of blood!

Gotta feed those vampires somehow...

When a necromancer is caught in my cage traps, and is successfully moved inside the fortress.

As I'm embarking, I go through my starting seven to pick two soldiers.  I try to make my militia all male, to prevent baby incidents.  There is only one male.  I start picturing Iden and his 6 wives, fleeing the mountainhome due to "religious persecution".

Watching the futile efforts of a goblin siege to get through the 1 wide hallway with enough traps to make even an epic rogue cry.

"Snatcher! Protect the children!" - centered on my first cage trap
"Snatcher! Protect the children!" - at the next cage trap

Hmm, I only have two cage traps before the weapon traps, I wonder if there will be a third snatcher...

I will run the experiment to completion anyway, however. Even if the only reason why there is a punctured equilibrium in the fortress is because I have been brutally butchering babies
EDIT: I just remembered that dwarves can't equip halberds. That might explain why the squads that use them always die.

I really like putting the weapons traps before the cage traps now... on top narrow pathways above very deep pits. It works very well and totally makes me smile too.

Yeah, the beneift to that is the weapon traps weed out the weaker ones. The stronger/luckier ones give more training to dwavs.

Killing machine implies that they're good at it.
They're not the best but I recently ordered them to attack a were-beast and the effect was devastating. Although it was 20 rabbits and the wrestler they were assigned to against a were-cow.

Thanks for the tip. now the gobblys will know the full wrath of rabbits!

Sending a squad of Dwarven Weapon Lords to deal with an entire siege.

I love the smell of troll ichor in the morning... It smells like victory.

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.
