"umm... do i even want to look? And whats this about spikkes at the bottom? Didn't i read in one of the reports that this was made by a giant monster? Be careful guys it could be something completley ddifferent from crystals."

Cletus continues to descend.
If/when he reaches the bottom, he'll try to avoid any crystal spikes, and get ready to help Reggie.

<vixen, test the walls, see if you can climb them safely.>

((Sadly, Vixen doesn't fly. Yet. The biggest point about her is the ai, which I'm hoping to use as a framework to set up some heavy automation for defenses and mining, and looking at potential chassis upgrades. When we can afford it.))

((lol apparently I'm Steve Irwin.))

Wait for someone else to get down here. Chat on the radio to keep calm. New action here: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=115846.msg3670028#msg3670028

Is that Phil? Yeh I can bring you a sample...I'm not sure I could avoid it actually. ...They're pretty fragile, rather glass-like. I don't want to twist around and shatter the ones inside me. So I'm just lying here until someone can give me a hand. Gonna need to be lifted off them or have someone snap them off at ground level so I can sit up. I'm ok for now though, don't anyone rush.

((Hopefully our field surgeon will stop being AFK sometime soon.  :-\ ))

Jatha, Yhgi, Doomblade and Joben still need to perform an action, or risk being auto'd to their doom.

My action was officially non-action. listed above. Actually I'd like to tweak that though since there's time.

Reggie is going to lie still but look around and see if he can spot anything interesting or important looking. Including things a miner might see like minerals.

<Parrot fly back to base camp and scan that rock, iif all iis normal fly back here and start in an increasingly larger diameter giving me regular updates>
You sit and watch the fools fumble about, running into one another and tripping over there own feet. Idiots.

The Parrot takes off in the direction of the colony in order to scan the rock that has been reported. [ETA: Following 1-2 Action Posts]

Cletus continues to descend.
If/when he reaches the bottom, he'll try to avoid any crystal spikes, and get ready to help Reggie.

<vixen, test the walls, see if you can climb them safely.>

[2] Your luck doesn't hold out however, and you make it about thirty feet before you realise that your only hardpoint is coming loose from the suit!

Vixen tests his grip on the walls. He can cling to them fairly easily, and, after careful manoeuvring, climb downward. However, he doesn't make much headway before scampering back up and onto solid ground and citing multiple self-preservation subroutines and the results of survival probability calculations.

Regain control.
[1] You lose what remains of your grip and go into free-fall. You have no idea how to stop.

Continue manning the point.

Any ideas on what the crystals are yet?  Have you noticed anything odd a out them?
You grit your teeth and further tighten your grip on the line. Its hard to tell from the random tugging and steady pulling, but you're pretty sure that means they're dying.

Stare at the rock in utter disbelief
The rock puffs up and then explodes. Blood spatters everywhere and a tiny glob of flesh even hits you directly in the face with a wet smack. You wipe it off with your gloved hand and look at it. You note that its much clearer than normal blood…. What are you saying?! A damn rock just blew its guts all over the desert!

My action was officially non-action. listed above. Actually I'd like to tweak that though since there's time.

Reggie is going to lie still but look around and see if he can spot anything interesting or important looking. Including things a miner might see like minerals.
You suddenly notice that there are numerous holes riddling the walls of the Pit. They start about a quarter of the way from the bottom and run down along the wall and beyond the sandy floor. A large one is particularly close to you and you peer into it. You think you see something shiny somewhere inside of it. As for the dirt itself, the grain and texture indicate heavy ore deposits are somewhere nearby. No doubt underneath you, but thats what you always think.

Quote from: Yhgi
Yhgi has been auto'd.
There wasn't much to do aside from descend anyways.

You decide to begin your descent. [3] You clip in and start moving. [Two Hardpoints] After ten minutes you moved about two feet. You're not very good at this are you?
