((Yeah, that's why I wasn't planning on going for the crystals right now. Remember- size of several moons.))
The creature was buried, so most of that dirt/sand/rock that was on top of him slid into the hole and filled it. The drop is only about 164 feet deep (Ha. "Only"). Thats about the size of the Arc de Triomphe, just to help you get an idea of scale. You could get more rope if Aneos can get a lucky roll again, or you could try to fill it in and make the drop shorter somehow. Flying is always an option, though I doubt you guys have the cash for that kind of thing. 500 Cs is chump change.

Migrant, who are you?: My name is Phil.

Describe yourself migrant: I'm 6'4" have messy brown hair and deep blue eyes. I grew up in the city and have seen things that would stop the Devil in his tracks. I joined the air-force straight out of college to become a fighter pilot. I rose through the ranks and was about to be promted to general when an argument between a senior officer left him with a broken nose and dislocated shoulder. When i returned home my high-school sweetheart had cheated on me with my closest friend so i left.

What skills do you have migrant?: Pilot/military training- pilot (Able to control plane's and heli's+ UAV), Marksman(small arms), Great friend(increases roll when with him)

What did you bring migrant?: High caliber ballistic pistol, standard gear, small remote controlled heli with camera, medkit, and a valuable necklace(with a picture of his ex inside)

Vincent, Aneos, Jim, and Perrin are inside the Living Quarters with their newly purchased items. There is a mining laser on the floor, and you are currently debating what to do with it.

Wave Two will begin tomorrow. It is late afternoon. Begin.

That sounds like the best idea to me.  Although it's getting late, so we might want to try setting up some farms or something and get spelunking tomorrow.

"But how would we get farms?"
Yeah. Thats a good question considering you have no crops and no current means of maintaining them. Not to mention this planet isn't exactly friendly to plant life.
If you had enough rope, you would have plenty time to go investigate the pit before nightfall, even if you do run into any problems.

"Let's look into getting those crystals. Hey-you feel like haggling with the MRU again?"

Check MRU for cost of around 160 feet of rope (carbon fiber).

The MRU seems generous today.
MRU: Carbon Fiber Comp-Rope (160 feet) [1Cs/foot] --- Charge: 160 Cs --- Please Confirm Y/N….
