I have been listening to the "We're alive" podcast, a radio style drama about surviving in a zombie apocalypse.  Now i am looking for a good zombie game. So what are your guys fav zombie games?

L4D and L4D2 tend to get knocked down to $2-5 any time Steam does something larger than a weekend sale.

As for freeware, the best one I can think of is Rogue Survivor.

There is also Cataclysm, a zombie apocalypse RL, as well as a metric ton of flash games. Zombies have been the new 'it thing' for almost a year now since their behavior is so easy to code.

Project Zomboid is decent as is Rogue Survivor. If you can handle poor UI and unusual design choices there is also Fort Zombie. These are in addition to those already put forth here. Also, if you want a different type there is S.P.A.Z.

And don't forget Stubbs.

I HIGHLY recommend Cataclysm, hundreds of items, very realistic (for a roguelike) and altogether frustrating as hell, but hey, most Bay 12 games are too.

Cataclysm thirded. Though it's debatable if it could actually be called a zombie survival game at this point.

More of a zombie/wild animal/giant insect/homicidal robot/interdimensional goo/triffid/graboid survival game.

Also must be me, but I've found DayZ zombies somewhat lacking, more scenery than a gameplay element.
Ditto for the survival part of the game, after playing for a week it just ends up being PvP, which is fun with the Arma engine but still not zombie-oriented.

Dead frontier is pretty good. It's a zombie mmo with looting and even pvp if you decide to enable it. Its unity 3d also, which is much better than the old top down 2d they used to have.
